Pros
Small company atmosphere, innovation was encouraged and well received from the technical support side of things. Plenty of opportunity to learn and grow if you were willing to take on new challenges. Some decent managers in the company, and a few bad ones as well but you'll find that just about anywhere. Overall my experience there was a very positive one.
Cons
My biggest complaint was the quality of product sold by the company. Some of the cutters were excellent machines, but there were a handful of SignWarehouse exclusive cutters that were absolutely abysmal and almost guaranteed to be returned. Selling one of them resulted in a very angry customer call to technical support and therefore an angry tech at the moron salesman that sold the sub par piece of equipment for an easy sale (naturally, they were dirt cheap).
Advice to Senior Management
The company needs to focus more on pushing the higher quality, albeit more expensive equipment and stop selling the cheap knockoffs from Taiwan entirely. It's bad for the company's reputation and it put much more stress on me as a technician to have to explain to the customer that they have a substandard piece of equipment and will barely be able to use it for their business needs.
Pros
Salary was reasonable for the area
Reasonable hours work/life balance
Nice co-workers
New office is nice and pretty easy to get to off the highway.
Cons
Management is not the best.
Commission structure changes a lot.
Micro managed
Expects a lot of travel which can make it harder to have work life balance
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees with more value, and not as cattle that you can just replace.
Pros
Good pay and great benefits.
Cons
It is hard to move up in the company management, as most managers are hired from outside of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Look for employees internally to promote instead of looking outside the company.
