    Pros

Flex time, parking is good, nice offices (albeit tiny cubicles), escalators (for my knees) 20 word min is reduce loud for filling out this web form.

    Cons

People of three years and twenty+ years treated as though they are the same Assumptions of your technical expertise made in a knee jerk fashion No managing of engineers, just technical data Very little communication especially in expectations Very unique jargon is assumed to be universal and an understanding of it determines how your competence is viewed There is an elitist view that they know and can do more than anyone in the industry, my experience is very much counter to that

    Advice to Management

Ensure communication is the key element when dealing with employees Ensure that a 'good old boy' network does not run off exceptionally qualified people

    Pros

Education completely paid for, very knowledgeable employees, and ease of movement within the company.

    Cons

High turnover rate, large amounts of layoffs, inconsistent raises, high stress depending on what group your in. Employees are not taken care of and management doesn't communicate well, nor listen to employees about concerns. People don't want to escalate problems they just leave.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to everyone. High turn around means constant training of new employees. Means company doesn't make money during that time. Telling everyone 1400 people will be laid off doesn't help feel secured. Shouldn't feel that way any way when it appears normal that we have either furlough days every year and/or layoffs.

    Pros

There's plenty of opportunities to grow and an abundance of challenging work.

    Cons

The computer security rules are quite daunting, but, I'm sure are necessary given the recent occurrences of hacking around the country.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps think about some form of biometric authentication to simplify computer and voice mail log-ins.

    Pros

Very good employee scholar program, a lot of opportunity to further education and skillset. Easy to get exposure to a lot of different departments around the company.

    Cons

Not easy to move up or move around unless you know somebody. Very old culture that is somewhat resistant to change.

    Pros

The company trusts all the employees. There is a very strong sense of social belonging, and the atmosphere lends itself to make everyone welcome. There is plenty of work to be done, and it's pretty interesting once you understand how your task affects the project.

    Cons

People like to drag their feet at work. A lot of people are used on different programs and have different timelines, and because everyone always needs something from someone else it is kind of hard to complete your tasks. It seems like senior engineers remain in the past in terms of customs and standards. Also, everything appears to be very disorganized within the company.
