Pros
A good organized company with a good infrastructure and skilled engineers in Germany and Sunnyvale. Good work was rewarded with RSUs.
Cons
The site was closed during the crises at the end 2009 which was a radical but necessary move. SIMG lost lots of know how and the company is lacking architects now...
Advice to Senior Management
Stop looking only for short-time profit. Invest more in science and research and let the engineers inventing new edge-cutting products.
Pros
- Reasonable work hours
- Not too bad compensation overall
Cons
- Middle management as well as senior management (related to my field) sucks big time as far technical decisions/review process are concerned
- Compensation need to go with technical skill set (for technical positions)
- Highly biased ethnically e.g stupid and in competant people but of same ethnicity at decision making positions
- Upper management working just for their personal gains and not for company's
Advice to Senior Management
- Do complete overhauling of some of middle level management based on skill set and not based on ethnicity
- Reward right people professionally as well as money wise if you want to see company grow

Join here if you don't have a personnel life.. its an exciting company working on leading edge protocols like HDMI, MHL etc..
Cons
Consumer electronics companies need to compete on penny basis and this puts lot on pressure on employees to meet the aggressive schedules with absolutely with no additional resources.
You may end up working on Christams, Thanksgiving and even on Jan 1st...This is very routine for engineering staff..

Great Working environment among engineers. Things get done.
Cons
Upper management only cares about their own career path. Direction is not transparent to employees. Back stabbing is a daily tasks for management level. No risk taking from upper management, only care about not making mistakes. Some upper management doesn't even have the "technical knowledge" to run the department

Don't listen to your direct reports, talk to the lower level management as well as employee to get a "feel" of the "real" culture

Somehow no enthusiasm and happyness seen in employees, as it goes for GOOGLE employees. I would like to get some innovation that no other companies do. God Bless Silicon image! It gives us the "bread"!

Talented engineers and a good working working environment. Information within local branch can be shared verbally and assistance is provided when dealing with difficult issues.
Cons
This is company that has been plaqued by leading the race in new HDMI feature introduction rather than actual sustenance of product sales. Job responsibility is spread too wide. It is essentially a startup company in guise of a public one. Management is heavily dependent on execution rather than getting the job right. Upper management seems to think that IP is more valuable than employee contribution. Priorities and project management is a joke, all projects have deadlines within the same time period. Some departments have too many line level managers. Hardly any proposition for job improvement laterally or vertically.

Value your employees. Get a real Product Management and Marketing team.
