Current Employee – been working at SilkRoad technology full-time for more than a year
Pros – Employees are empowered to make the right decisions.
You own your own career and opportunities are there for you but don't wait for them to come to you...go out and get them.
Extremely flexible work culture.
Cons – Resources are tight and you have to be willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work, continue to pay attention to culture and don't lose sight of what is really important - employees and customers.

Current Employee – been working at SilkRoad technology full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – I am based in the SilkRoad Jacksonville office and my experience has been amazing!! In addition to all of the amazing products I get to work on and the fact that I can do that in flip flops, I always feel like my input is valued and in many cases implemented. I feel like our Sr leadership has a clear innovative vision for the future of our products and where the organization is moving. In the past 5 years I have been able move and grow internally while maintaining a competitive salary. I’m excited about what the next 5 years bring
Cons – With great power comes great responsibility so be ready for it, SilkRoad is a relatively small organization in employee size with around 400 - 450 depending on who you ask and when you counted, with that said as a manager and employees you will get to work in a variety of areas and do many different things, we are fast movers and heavy lifters getting stuff done.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice would be to continue what is already being done by bringing in in more talent to scale with our rapid customer acquisition and sales / lead demand.

Current Employee – been working at SilkRoad technology full-time for less than a year
Pros – The management is very understanding and great to work with. The pay is excellent and if you want time off for any reason, the management is very understanding and has no problem with letting you take care of your personal business. Job stability and opportunity to work on multiple projects are there. Nice and friendly working environment. Small team gives opportunity for more responsibility and greater exposure.
Cons – Nothing that i can think of.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work on strategy and direction, so the SRT can go to execute and deliver the best results for our customers and shareholders in the coming years.

Former Employee – worked at SilkRoad technology
Pros – Great people trying to support the sales team.
Cons – The end goal is market share, not even profit. So they tend to give away free months (sometimes a full year) on their subscriptions or give away modules at a song in order to get the business. Customers get what they pay for. They're really not even focused on customer satisfaction which is sad.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop talking and start executing on your promises. Treat your employees with respect. They work hard and deserve it.

Former Employee – worked at SilkRoad technology as a contractor for more than 8 years
Pros – VERY few quite honeslty. If you are looking for rock bottom price, they'll deliver for you with a few 'extra' free months thrown in.
Cons – Their spending is like the Government's debt, over limit.
1. SilkRoad's management team is abysmal, starting from the very top, they absolutely do not value their customers including their internal customers, the 'feet on the street', their employees, sales force etc., management cherry picks deals they want to work and sell if it will benefit them period. Team work is not in their vocabulary.
2. There is a huge lack of focus and a disconnect between management and the sales team. What this has created is a fear type situation based on bullying, and backbiting internally as various groups all claw to 'live another day'.
3. In addition, they would rather churn and burn customers with the hopes that when they lose one customer, they'll gain another...this is because they don't deliver on promises made and they have asked the sales force who know this full well to oversell on functionality and embellish stories of customer success.
4. Finally, Instead of upward mobility for the organization they have all been driving in a downward spiral, again all starting from the top of the organization. They also treat their employees like cattle and with little regard, if you have an intelligent thought or speak your mind you are not viewed as a valued member of the team and you just put a target on your back. They run a cast system based on nepotism and who knows who which is who gets ahead, nothing is based on merit.
Advice to Senior Management – I am sure the Board is saavy enough to realize that nepotism only goes so far with this group and they need to shake things up and bring in new blood to give SilkRoad a much makeover, again, starting at the top.
