    Pros

I have been working at Silvaco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * Flat company. Few executives, all of whom are constantly in the trenches with the troops. Almost no office politics and no ladder climbing by colleagues.
    * New management (CEO, CFO and Chairman) have been around now for 6 months. Company seems to be in much better direction prior to previous management (when Silvaco was aggressively controlled by only Ivan).
    * Obvious culture shift for the better. Push from above to make company feel more like a big family.
    * A real science & technology company focused on solving a very wide spectrum of complex problems in various fields. Workers encouraged to build good relationships with all customers (from university level all the way to big companies). Workers play an important role in solving customer problems (for both domestic and international customers).

    Cons

    * Some products/groups are stretched too thin in terms of engineers and need more help/staff.
    * Needs way more communication between sites. Company could be in even better shape if inner-office communication was not an issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Maybe more travel would be nice. Especially to visit customers in person and to visit other company offices.
    * Might be to early to say (since this was never done in the past under old management): 1-2 company outings or events per year would be nice. More smaller events and gatherings (doesn't have to involve everyone at one time).

    Pros

Small. Everyone knows everybody else. No structure. You can generally do what you want.

    Cons

Company has no idea about good UI design or QA. Feature creep is paramount and shipped software is shoddy quality.
Some employees are primadonnas who think of themselves as superior engineers, but really are in for a wake-up call when they eventually work for a real company that ships quality products and see what real engineering is.

Benefits are basic. Compensation is pathetic.
