I have been working at Silverleaf Resorts part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun work environment, outgoing people, communication, flexible schedule and decent pay! We recently got a new director that has been great and makes working here a blast! She is a great communicator and is very positive and fair! I almost left previously and am glad I stuck around to see the changes she has made. I currently refer my friends to this job because it is a better pay compared to most places!

    Cons

Commute, office location. Some events can be pretty far away from my house.

    Advice to Management

Maybe a little more training at events and less in the office!

I worked at Silverleaf Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Weekly pay Good incentives Insurance Spiffs Ummm thats it

    Cons

100% commission. Too many chiefs not enough indians. The mindset is to tear you down and build you back up how they want you. The silverleaf way. Very hostile environment. Management and reps all sleep around and if you aren't on the inside group your on the outs. If you can handle that then try it out... but beware.. they came in with hr and closed the seaside sales floor. Everyone either lost their jobs or were asked to move cities. They made us work labor day and fired us the next day.

    Advice to Management

You promote with the wrong intentions. You have some cold hearted people and you promote them?! People who dont care for or about the company. In the meantime you fire so many people that had their hearts in Silverleaf.

    Pros

There was no real good pro to working for a company that tries to manipulate their customers.

    Cons

The customers that I was supposed to talk into paying a $40 appointment deposit and then they go to the resort to tour it to receive a vacation of some sort. Well that $40 deposit that is refunded comes out of my paycheck along with any other incentives they give... Also... 95% of the people that I talk to that have bought into the timeshare are Highly dissatisfied due to never being able to get an actual time slot for their vacation they pay monthly for and is very expensive.... I would never recommend this company to anyone to work at or be a customer. Also this company does expect you to work very strange hours due to you are mainly working sporting events that start in the afternoon that run til late at night...

    Pros

Best reasons to work for them would be if you enjoy working at different locations and if you are the kind of person who hates sitting around insides or behind a desk. This company has its employees work games events festivals rodeos etc.

    Cons

Many many cons. They deceive you about how you will be getting paid. Management is horrible and unprofessional. Employees are not managed well and have no guidance. Lying and deceiving the general public is also encouraged and preferred, also a top priority if you hope to make money.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Quit having the people who do the hiring lie about how one will get paid. Your statement of $10 an hour PLUS is a lie since it is really an "either" "or" situation.

    Pros

None really, but this is asking for a 20 word minimum, so just filling in the space. If you have any sense of ethics, this is not for you.

    Cons

This is the worst of timeshare sales and, in my opinion, very misleading to the customer. Once I figured out what was going on, I was out. They sell people a useless, low-end package which makes it very difficult to ever use, then get them back in to “upgrade” to something much more expensive. The customer is then cornered into upgrading or keeping something not worth the money. Also, they control who gets the good and easy business, so you have to play the “favorites” game. Stay away; lots of other options out there to earn good money.

    Advice to Management

Change how you mislead customers into buying something which is almost impossible for them to use.
