The most fun and interactive job I've ever had.

I worked at Silverwood full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

One of my favorite parts about working for Silverwood was the training. It wasn't just to teach you how to do your job but it told why you need to do your job right and who you were doing it for. They gave you the life story of Silverwood. How it started and why they strive to keep the dream alive and I loved being apart of that. They treat their guests and characters (employees) like family and really tried to make you feel important. The perks are also great.

    Cons

Although they tried to make you feel important at all times its hard to always be notice with over 200 characters in the park. But while you might not have know everyone you were working with you knew your building and ther area you work in and who you worked with there.

I worked at Silverwood part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

It is a fun summer job that is usually not labor intensive.

    Cons

Hours at the beginning of the season can be hard to come by and by the end of the season they are begging you to work everyday because everyone has quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to reformat your employee guest policy. During the beginning of the summer when everyone wants to go the employees do not have enough passes and by the end of the year you have a stock pile.

    Cons

Low pay (at or near minimum wage)

Feels like sometimes they're penny pinching (e.g. Employees pay for training books, uniforms, etc)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Split days into two shifts, but still allow people to work both shifts if they want.

I have been working at Silverwood full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Silverwood Theme Park has great staff, the management is professionally trained, and they provide numerous support. The guests are also a lot of fun, overall a great job thats experience that is priceless.

    Cons

Silverwood doesn't pay overtime, pay rate is very low, schedules lots of hours (thus you don't have a summer life), and virtually no benefits. Also, the park is falling apart behind the scenes, so the work environment isn't the greatest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Park needs to rebuild many of the buildings, make them more comfortable to work in, needs to pay overtime and include more benefits, especially to ones that return year after year. Park just needs to put a lot more money into employees.
