I have been working at Singapore Management University

    Pros

Flexible working hours, work in freedom, good part time job

    Cons

Less opportunity to meet new people, only work as a small team,

  2.

No management science in the executive suite. Autocratic rule at a whim.

I have been working at Singapore Management University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you like to "relax" and are planning for retirement, most departments here offer that environment.

    Cons

If you are young and adventurous, you may not get the exposure you want because you are very much contained in your own department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up. There are many talents within the organisation and not many are satisfied at what they are doing right now. Although there are opportunities for internal transfer, not many directors like to grant transfers.

I have been working at Singapore Management University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The office location is very strategic and closed to Bugis MRT station.

    Cons

The turnover rate is extremely high as the company does not provide coaching or anything to help employees in keeping their jobs. Employees are always bickering and stabbing each other. Favoritism is highly practiced and policy is not enforced. The upper management has no consistency on how employees or managers are reprimanded or counseled. They never speak to the ground staff or even look in their eyes when they walk by.

I worked at Singapore Management University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The benefit is above average, general compensation is pretty market rate
good work life balance, great branding of the university

    Cons

it is a pretty hierarchy environment, therefore there would be less freedom to conduct projects or initiatives
meanwhile the structure is quite stable which means there is less progress opportunity,

I have been working at Singapore Management University as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

My supervisor was a Professor and I only had to report to him so this review may be subjective. There was a lot of freedom and flexibility given in coordinating and planning classes and I learnt a lot from carrying out various tasks as they were all new to me.

    Cons

Limited advice given regarding certain tasks - left to decide on my own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good management, keep it up!
