Stable and competitive company with good management

    Manager (Current Employee)
    Singapore (Singapore)

ProsLots of learning opportunities. Competitive spirit means that company performs consistently which translates to consistent AWS and bonus payout and no cost cutting measures that affect employee welfare.
    Higher management works really hard.

ConsManagement squeeze the most from you - also depends on department. If you can cope then the experience gained will boost your market value as an employee.
Climbing the corporate ladder here means you job scope and what is expected from you rise exponentially.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt can be demoralising to know that the chances of a second promo in 2 years is next to 0.

ProsGood professional company.Very good Singapore processes.Very soft, warm and nice people to work with.Very strong company

ConsBit resistant to change considering its legacy. There is a disconnect between the strategies framed by SIngTel Singapore and it's other subsidiaries working out of different geographies.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing the good work and keep changing with the times.

Lots of products and services to sell, but workload is unbearable!!

    Sales (Current Employee)
    Singapore (Singapore)

ProsStability is the keyword here. Its akin to an iron ricebowl and there is no risk of getting fired unless you have done something terribly wrong.

ConsPay is not commensurate with market standards, and basic pay can be much lower than competitors. Too much workload as customers come to you instead of you going to them. There is NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. If you wish to spend 75% of your waking hours doing work and clearing non stop emails, this is the place for you! You are bogged by emails even when going on leave so you can never truly have any rest.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to understand what the emplyees are really experiencing on a day to day basis. Really listen to what they have to say and do something about it to alleviate their unrealistic workload.

    Good training ground for freshies

    Senior Manager (Former Employee)

ProsI have picked up different skills in the dept I am in.
Depending on where you are, u will get different exposures.

Conscan be demanding for middle management as yoy they expect growth of staff but opportunities are not readily available.
Hence the achievements cannot be rated fairly.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo do away with the bell curve performance ranking, but use the fair benchmarking encouraging teamwork and efficient performance.
It must be a top down support to enable staff to be able to be expose to the different areas

    Mediocrity is the way

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Singapore (Singapore)

ProsGreat place if you're not striving for much. People here really hug their JDs tightly and do only what is needed. Work-life balance easily achieved if u do that.

ConsGets frustrating if u're a slightly more responsible. Even more so when u're a responsible person without a big title. Be prepared to get blamed & fight back for everything. Think GE - PAP vs Opp.
