I worked at Singtel part-time for less than a year

    Pros

One of the pros to work in singtel as a part-timer is that you will get to meet many young and friendly colleagues like yourself. Also, the pay is slightly higher than other company at $8/hr and OTs are additionally paid. Work load is manageable and it depends on the department you are in.

    Cons

if you are taking the job full time, there might be chances that you will stay in the department and position for quite long. Career progression is slow and changing from being a contract staff to permanent staff would take a long while.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should work on acknowledging its employee's achievements and work performance.

    Great for average achiever

I worked at Singtel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place if you're an average achiever who just wants a job that pays the bills. Work life balance and you get to knock off on time. Lots of internal product training. If you dont know something, there's always someone that you can find to collaborate with.

    Cons

Too much red tape if they count themselves as an IT firm. Still very much a telco centric company. Lots of middle and senior management who have been with the company for more than 20 years with no other transferable skills in the job market.
A very big bell curve and they get new hire to fill the lousier grades during the annual review exercise.
Not at the frontier of the technology.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some good and smart people.

I have been working at Singtel full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stable environment, friendly colleagues, top management leaders with a clear vision. Employees will have the opportunity for exposure in various areas

    Cons

Finance-focused, risk averse, various departments working in silo and not receptive to change, HR not very people friendly and lacking human touch, KPI structure not conducive for long term innovation in its people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review company structure to reward long term innovative vision, not just short term success
