Everyone needs to work for the common good.

    Pros

Compensation (under the BITS Division) is nigh unbeatable for the market. If you work hard for the company, the company works hard to keep you here. It's a casual environment where you work hard and play hard with a great atmosphere.

    Cons

The biggest hurdles working here are generally procedural requirements passed down by the customer. Sometimes they can be mitigated but it is often unavoidable.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing to keep all the best employees!

    Pros

    Never a dull moment,
Challenging work with a patriotic purpose

    Cons

Company culture reflective of military style rank and file, chain of command,
Politics can be thick at times

    Advice to Management

    Diversify, in all regards

    Pros

Decent benefits and 401k plan. Good work locations and commute

    Cons

I am not sure where to start with this company. I was on a contract for Six3 for 6 months. It was my first government contracting experience after leaving the military and I was shocked by what I found. The onsite managers had no interpersonal skills with contractors and never went out of their way to engage with employees; I found that very odd. Additionally, I was severly underpaid in comparsion to people without college degrees or experience. With a masters degree and five years of intelligence experience there were people making 15 - 20k more than me who did not even have an associates degree. The work I was contracted to do was mindless and could have been done by high school interns. This company is being absorbed by CACI and hopefully managers will learn how to manage.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage and interact with employees. When you go out of your way to talk to government employees but turn your back on the contractors you support people will not want to work for you.

    Pros

Many opportunities, still a lot of good people at the middle level, good compensation beyond salary

    Cons

Willing to threaten or hinder you from seeking new contract or employment, even if they aren't eligible to bid

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people, be honest during times of uncertainty, and they will stick with you

    Pros

Managers seem to care about the employees, company fosters continuing education and good work/life balance, pay and benefits are above average.

    Cons

Once a contract is up, there may not be another position open for you, and then unfortunately you are on your own.

Six3 has nice people and a laid back attitude, but most small companies have that same enviornment.

    Benefits
    Training budget
    Laid back

    Cons

    Unprofessional
When you need something done, it takes a long time
Not a lot of opportunities for growth
    All eggs in one basket

    Advice to Management

    Dont bet on single contracts
Big companies attitudes can be bad, but small companies processes and lack professionalism is worse.
