Review Highlights

  • Very Easy job expect in a huge store with no hours then it becomes quite the challenge more workload on less ppl for same amount of money (in 4 reviews)

Cons
  • There is a lot of turnover because of the low pay, so if you have a car you can expect to be going and helping out other stores constantly (in 7 reviews)

  • At Store Manager level, there's not much room for advancement within the company unless you are willing to relocate to California (in 4 reviews)

    Cons

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun, fast paced culture. You get to sell amazing, innovative footwear for a company that is continually reinventing itself. I have seen many success stories of associates advancing quickly..

    Cons

Any cons you would find in any retail setting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more aware of how middle management is or is not developing field management. There is a lot of wasted talent at the store level. Great talent is being acquired from outside, but it is to the determent of current loyal, talented and tenured employees.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

50% off on shoes (up to 4 pairs for management)
Commission if you work in a concept store.
The job is ridiculously easy for concept stores.
10 min breaks when working 8 hours shift + 30 min lunch.
    Known brand.
    Ok benefits.
Pay is based on your experience.
Ok schedule, if your store is small you could get out at a decent time.
Some pretty good sales associates. Some bad too.

    Cons

Lack of communication with the distribution center that wouldn't send us the latest styles.
Marketing could be very annoying, changes every day.
Not the best quality of shoes.
Let's customers return any worn shoes, even if they are in bad condition.
Lack of training, thank God I learn things without much direction.
Store management wasn't the best. (No more comments ha).
Super old system, company doesn't even know about emails lol
Gumble machine, attracts the wrong customers.
District Management wasn't too bad, but never really visited the store.

My experience, not the worst neither the best. Wouldn't really recommend it, I guess it all depends what kind of manager you have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update the system, it's a joke.
Update your return policy, no wonder why customers return anything.
Bonuses should be for ASM as well.
Communication with distribution center needs serious help.
Hire Management that know what they're doing, don't only hire base on good interviews. Give them a trial time.

    Pros

    What ever nothing at all

    Cons

They do not work with your schedule. They expect your life to revolve around them. They forced me to quit. I was a dedicated employee. I would never work for this company again. And would never refer anyone to skechers

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

People are pretty pleasant to work with. Upward growth is a possibility.

    Cons

Although Upward growth is a possibility, it doesn't happen quickly. You may have to constantly ask for more, and they may give you more work, but not necessarily more opportunities or more compensation. Have to ask over and over and over for new opportunities.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice co-workers in late 20 's to early 30's. Nice office at a very nice location.

    Cons

No leadership whatsoever. High turnover rate, they don't expect people to stick around for too long. No Advancements within the company. You can tell even the managers are already complacent with there jobs and title and know they can't move up. This leads to unhelpful, careless, horrible bosses. Unrealistic expectation to the ratio of pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give workers more incentives to work for you. The end is in sight as soon as you start there.
