A company run by country-club elitists with FCC connections.

IT Manager (Former Employee) Reston, VA

ProsFree parking and quitting were the only two bright spots of working for SkyTerra.

ConsLots. No opportunity for advancement. More money spent on salaries and compensation packages than on infrastructure. Only company I know that uses freeware anti-virus software downloaded from the Internet because all the money was spent in luring DC lobbyists, K-Street Lawyers, Captiol Hill staffers and former FCC regulators to the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry putting people first, not your personal financial portfolios.

Good, smart people work at the company. Upper management doesn't inspire much confidence

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Reston, VA

ProsLots of interesting work to do, company ramping up and could be big

ConsSerious danger of going out of business in the next few years

Could be great, could be awful

Engineer (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsInteresting technology, great people in my group. Could be a big success in the future.

ConsNo advancement, uncertain future, mediocrity rewarded based on cliques. Strong executive team but weak management under them. Leadership almost entirely absent at VP level. Hiring based on friendships not talent.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart noticing who really does good work, and start expecting the same from the passengers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Communication Coordinator (Current Employee)

ProsGreat people to work with, and a great industry to work in because technology is constantly advancing.

ConsWhat our company is trying to do is very risky.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
