    Pros

Great flight benefits for yourself, parents, direct family members (spouse, domestic partner, children) and companions. I love my coworkers.

    Cons

Management working in airports has often little managerial experience and treats employees like children even when they're 40 or 50 years old. Culture based on punishment, you get written up for any stupid reason, tying your shoe laces the wrong way. 50 year old employees get treated like children who need babysitting. There is no trust in letting you do your job right. This is a company that loves micromanagement so as long as you're ok with it...
Pay is very low for industry standard. In LAX you'll make $9/hour, which is less than survival pay for that city.

    Advice to Management

See above. Value your employees more, not just in words on the internal website. It's such a hard work dealing with passengers all day and an infinite number of delays and cancellations, value your employees more, many quit because they don't feel valued, regardless of flight benefits.

    Pros

I love dealing with people, and the crew. The trips are enjoyable.

    Cons

I realize I need to work a longer time span, however, I need the ability to earn a larger income than I have this past month.

    Pros

The people, the ability to move throughout the company.

    Cons

The pay and in some cases the hours (graveyard)

    Advice to Management

Now that we're the largest the transparency has disappeared.

    Pros

Great company culture and great people to work with. Favorite job I have had. Everyone is friends and openly cooperative. It really is a great environment.

    Cons

Not too many cons at SkyWest. For the most part I don't have any complaints. Some times communication between departments is not the greatest.

    Pros

None , I will absolutely never work or recommend any minority's to work for a company where you have to watch everything you do , because of your ethnicity

    Cons

Horrible company , turn the other way if you are a minority! Worst experience of my life ! They fire more minority's for stupid reasons watch your back .

    Advice to Management

You have absolutely no blacks in coporate or management ! Ask any Skywest employee what they think of the company and they all will tell you the same thing !

  8. Horrible Management

I have been working at SkyWest Airlines part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you like to travel, they offer great flight benefits. If you work full time, they offer good health benefits. If you are lucky enough to work part time, it is easy to get time off to travel.

    Cons

Management does not care about their employees. This station is all about how to benefit the company. Some of the equipment is broken or does not work properly making it an unsafe work environment. They claim that all scheduling will be based on seniority (person with the most seniority gets the best schedules), but much of what they do is not handled this way. They operate with favoritism in mind. Part time agents are more likely to be kept in over their clock out times during irregular operations, regardless of seniority.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and they might actually take pride in their work/jobs.

  9. A great place to start!!

    I worked at SkyWest Airlines

    Pros

Family atmosphere. Felt important to the company. Amazing flight benefits. Very professional environment. Loved going to work. Good opportunities for growth. Fun environment.

    Cons

Lack of pay...is a big issue across the board. For the most part...pay is under the industry norm. Also, some folks were promoted without education.

    Advice to Management

Try to get more money to employees that can help you grow, remain professional and care.

    Pros

there is much to learn in this company great people to work with easy to move up or move around, great benefits and flexibility.

    Cons

NIGHT SHIFT!!! Slowly takes your life away. the pay is not great.

    Advice to Management

the quality of the work that you get from the mechanics depends much on the way they are treated an most importantly the way they are Paid. Pay the mechanics more without them there would be no aircraft in the air.!
