    Pros

Flight benefits are really nice and extended beyond just one carrier.
If you find a good group of people to work with, it can be an enjoyable experience.
Work schedule can be shifted around as long as you can find someone to take or trade a shift.

    Cons

    Management is a joke here.
Supervisors pick favorites and those favorites get the best placement for their shift.
Many of the supervisors/managers are males who give all the easier jobs to the cute girls that flirt with them.
Decisions are made by the top execs (5%) for the majority of laborers (95%) without any real consideration of the people.
Equipment was usually broken, dilapidated, not ready for the shift coming, or missing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put people in supervisor roles who are actually capable of doing a their supervisor job.
Execs need to consider taking a serious pay cut (I know it will be hard to drop from $5 million a year to $1 million a year) to offer better pay to the nuts, bolts, and gears that make this business happen on a daily and hourly basis.

    Pros

Co workers are great. An excellent group of people struggling to do the best with what they are given to work with. Good flight benefits if you can be VERY flexible with your time of travel.

    Cons

Poor management. Under qualified people in management positions or qualified persons who have little to no management skills/training. The employee / management relationship seems to be more "us against them" instead of working together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better relationship with your employees. Start by communicating and listening to their input. Positive reinforcement costs nothing and the returns are high. Put some actual "Leaders" into some of those management positions. Show some respect and gratitude to your employees.

    Pros

This company is run by really smart people, who seem to be very aware of what's going on the industry. They really have a great out look on their future, which really helps being confident about a career here. Especially in an industry that is so unpredictable.

    Cons

The con not only about working at SkyWest, but working in this industry in general, is not having a real schedule. You are on reserve for however long it takes to hold a line, as of recently most of our Flight Attendants have been waiting about two years to hold a line.

    Pros

You are not just a number fewer employees in a base, you get to know most of them. You get a line faster than mainline. Variety and shorter flights. The best Regional Airlines in the market. You get flight benefits on several other airlines.

    Cons

They run lean, so you work quite a bit. Which can make it hard to get time off. More conservative so you must follow that train of thought to dress and behavior.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more flexible, work with your employees to make it a win win especially when it comes to time off.
