    Pros

    GREAT money if you can sell, even if u cant still make better income than most jobs.

    Cons

    hours CAN be long no lunch break but just bring your own lunch problem solved.

    Pros

    Good co-workers. Management worked to keep work environment pleasant and the management style was one of respect and inclusion.

    Cons

    Given the actual number of hours worked, the compensation was an absolute joke. Many stores had little traffic and goals were adjusted accordingly. But with such low traffic, even when sales goals were exceeded the amount of business would not allow for additional commission income to exceed the guaranteed "draw". Would often work 7, 8, or 9 days in a row before getting a single day off.

    Advice to Management

    Not relevant now that the original owners have sold the company to Mattress Firm. It's a commodity business so the name of the game is to maximize floor space. I'm sure the management of MF is not interested in advice.

    Pros

    Lots of "You" time. It's very peaceful and quiet. Pays well, for little work.

    Cons

    You will lose your mind from boredom. This job never stops. 60-70 hr work weeks demoralize like nothing else.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the base, "Guarantee".

    Great management and culture you can take pride in.

    Work-life balance is difficult for those with families due to long work days, and retail schedule.

    Pros

    Great Pay if your at a store in an affluent area. You can still make good money almost anywhere, if you're in a clearance center (outlet) store. You just have to work twice as hard and have a lot of patience, with a more difficult clientele of customers. Annual company trips for top performers are fun. 15 days paid vacation after 7 years.

    Cons

    As far as work life balance is concerned. Understand that this is a retail business, and working weekends and most holidays come with the territory. If you're the type of person, who lives for the weekends and every holiday. This job (sales) or any like it, is probably not for you. The benefits are about good. On par with most larger corporations. Be ready to play politics. Just like a lot of companies these days. It's just the nature of the culture. And yes, early morning monthly meetings.

    Advice to Management

    Either vastly improve company POS (point of sale) software or replace it. It's costing the company money and valuable (loyal) customers. But more importantly it's costing the sales people money. It's great to see that the operations and delivery team are working hard and long, to improve warehouse procedures and delivery service to the customer. But there is a desperate need to take a more comprehensive look at the company's overall best practices. One of the biggest reasons why Sleep Experts captured so much market share in less than 10 years, was not only our fanatical dedication to customer service, but our constant pursuit of efficiency and ongoing self improvement. Just because a company has a store on every, does not mean it you can cut corners, when comes to customer service. It would greatly benefit Mattress Firm to examine the things SE did well pre-acquisition and integrate them into the existing culture.

    Pays well, bonus is quarterly for Corporate and attainable goals.

    Cons

    Retail, which means supporting on nights/weekends and giving up most Holidays.

    Pros

    at one time , they cared about employees, but corp management and owner sold company without regard for employees to a company previously called the EVIL EMPIRE and the DARK SIDE on many occasions.
