    Pros

Co-workers and teammates are awesome. Compensation and benefits vastly exceed expectations I had only a few years ago. Engineering team is strong with many knowledgeable engineers to learn from and as a bonus they're mostly all nice people too. Opportunities to work on new products and ideas arise fairly frequently. Technology stack is fairly fresh and engineering management is pretty good about introducing new technologies and giving devs opportunities to try out new stuff.

    Cons

Engineering is stretched a little thin and senior management tends to push for pretty aggressive deadlines, which leads to some folks on the engineering team being stretched a little thin.

    Advice to Management

I don't want us to lose anyone due to burnout so I might consider easing up on some deadlines especially for those teams that are already exerting themselves pretty heavily.

    Pros

It's great to be a smaller company inside of a huge one (ST is a subsidiary of Trip Advisor Media Group). That means we get all the benefits from being a part of a large corporation, but we're still able to move quickly as a small company.

    Cons

There are always things you wish you could do differently, things you could push through quicker - it happens at every company.

    Advice to Management

Remember that sometimes it's not easy to put a revenue number behind every request.

  3. Good company culture, great benefits and perks.

    Pros

It's part of TripAdvisor and gets their great benefits package. Good HR staff. Open communication from CEO and management in general.

    Cons

Not many really. Sometimes it feels a little disconnected from the rest of TripAdvisor.

    Pros

Compensation was high at the time I was hired, and the perks are great (catered lunches, stocked kitchens, etc). I formed great bonds with the Product Teams and Sales people. It's the people that make the culture and they certainly have it.

    Cons

Confusing at best and not worth the aggravation for talent looking to grow in nurturing environment. There is extremely high turnover on the creative team. I would suggest that designers stay far, far away if they're interested in learning from their leaders. In addition, they wont treat you well. Prepare yourself for sleepless nights due to undefined and unclear expectations.

    Advice to Management

Consider the source of the high turnover rate on the creative team. It's a very easy fix.

    Pros

good engineer team. The engineering culture is good and fun. People there have worked a long time.

    Cons

Some products are built on old tech stack. The legacy code base is big. The turn-over in the engineer team is low, not easy to get promoted

    Pros

Extremely nice and helpful people, loads of ways to learn just by chatting with people around.
Loads of fun and definitely lot to work on

    Cons

Not a lot of cons, the co-op period can go a little stagnant some times. You need to be ready to work in multiple teams and multiple technologies here so you are expected to be geared up.

    Advice to Management

Great job keep up the good work, haven't seen any one happily quitting, every one wanted to stay and tripadvisor makes the whole thing good...

    Pros

    Under the TripAdvisor umbrella
    Competitive salary
    Good benefits, including travel reimbursement

    Cons

There are limited opportunities for career development and growth. There is no diversity in the Senior management team. Only type A males are invited to have a seat at the table.

    Advice to Management

Diversification could have a substantial and effective impact on the company and female employee morale.
