    Pros

    Great co-workers, benefits are ok

    Cons

Salaries are not what they should be. Have seen favoritism based salaries...hard workers are not properly compensated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take a really close look at who's actually doing their work!

Former Employee - Job Was A Negative Experience As A Whole in San Antonio, TX

I worked at Smile Brands full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    newer equipment, health insurance benefits,

    Cons

The company has a very poor reputation for over-diagnosis and over-treatment especially in the periodontal services/hygiene department. This is due to management pressure that basically rewards over aggressive diagnosis with higher pay and punishes the lack of it by moving you out as quickly as possible

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management will not listen to advice. Their bottom line and their investors are their top priority so that advice from employees is not welcome and certainly not heeded.

    Pros

Good pto plan, can't think about anything else... Had great group of co- workers, but they all left...

    Cons

Money hungry. Forcing dentist and hygienist provide unnecessary services. Instead of 3 surface fillings - RCT , post / core and crowns... Bleaching on every adult and sc/rp with arestin on anyone with visible bone loss on x- ray even in the absence of pockets and infection... Dental assistant are underpaid and overwork

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop worry so much about your profit and bonuses and respect your employees

I have been working at Smile Brands full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has nice employees and most offices are nice and newer. Most of the dentists seen very knowledgeable and confident in their work.

    Cons

I have been with the company for several years now. Within the last year there has been a lot of changes especially in upper management. One of the new Market Directors tries to be more of a friend or buddy then a leader. He has made inappropriate comments to me directly in emails. Comments about drinking alcohol. He has been disrespectful about employees when discussing the appropriate corrective action to take with employees such as calling them idiots. He has even called me and identifies himself as "it's me" instead of by his name. He acts like we talk all the time or something. The only one that should identify their self like that to me is my husband.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try better screening of the new people you hire for senior management, The company already monitors the emails that we send and receive, maybe check upper management emails a little better instead of putting so much trust into them.
