    Pros

This company has the best benefits I've seen. The pay scale is more than I was expecting. Get PTO on your 1st day and it is more than just a few days.

    Cons

Working 6-7 days nearly every week of the year, holidays you shouldn't expect more than 1 weekday off even for Christmas.

    Advice to Management

Business should not just be based on numbers. This company before it became SN cared more about the employee and they did not have to worry about numbers because everyone loved their job and still made the needed output without being pushed from management.

    Pros

Lots of smart, friendly people from different places that go out of their way to help.
    Pretty decent pay & benefits.
Accessible management, although there are some snooty ones that think they're special.
There is pride in the products and in the business although many people leave eventually to pursue greener pastures.
Due to the medium size & global presence, there is a lot of exposure to doing business with a global outlook as well gaining international experience.
Possible opportunities to shine due to the crude way the company gets things done.
Headquartered in London! If you're really lucky you may even get to visit the Global Head Office (GHO).

    Cons

Different divisions operate on their own terms and it is surprisingly siloed for a relatively small company.
Systems that do not communicate with each other makes information gathering so tedious and time consuming the decisions are made based on incomplete/incorrect/guesstimated data.
Lots of churn in upper management which results in goals and focus being changed frequently.

    Advice to Management

Stop firing each other or "voluntarily" leaving the company or doing whatever you're doing in your corner offices - there needs to be a direction set for the long term - not something that changes every 2 - 4 years when one executive or the other leaves.
Invest in IT infrastructure & systems - the divisions and global offices all operate on different ERP platforms and too many resources are wasted on patching together the information obtained from the patchwork of systems.
Cost cutting is not the answer. You're focusing on the wrong ways to save. Spend money to save money or at least it will help employees to work and do things more efficiently which will save money.
Stop outsourcing and bringing in so many consultants who charge a fortune to do exactly the same work.

    Pros

Business challenges offer opportunities to demonstrate analytical and leadership capabilities. Reorganizing and reducing independence of business units exposes improvements impossible for the past 100 years.

    Cons

You are cog #14572. You will not be trained. You will do what you are directed without question. You will not install unauthorized software on your computer. You will support our facetious campaign to be described as a Best Place to Work. Your reward is our continued tolerance of your many obvious deficiencies. We will hire your next supervisor from somewhere else to demonstrate to you the stupidity of your idea that you deserve a promotion. Please give us a high rating in our next anonymous email questionnaire, because we care about your opinion.

    Advice to Management

Read up on empowerment. Consider the possibility that all the money spent on technology might make it reasonable for employees to work remotely. Consider that if you think it's important to have some information, other employees might also consider it important to have that information. It's not ok to lie to your employees. Failing to share consequential information is the same thing as telling a lie.
