Pros

The baseline compensation is good, on a par with larger more profitable hospices; however, the benefits, including basic health care, are poor and employees must contribute a hefty portion of their premiums.

Cons

This community hospice frequently chooses to enhance their own bottom line at the expense of reasonable patient care. RN's who complain have been isolated, harrassed, and in one case discharged. Employee surveys have been done every 6 months, and they indicate that employees across the board are unhappy with working conditions in this company.

Advice to Senior Management

Pay attention to your own mission statement. Listen to the employees who advocate for their patients, and realize that sacrificing patient care will, sooner or later, come back to haunt you.
