Pros
Great benefits and beautiful facilities
Cons
General Managers can be really old fashioned and out of touch with advancements in management. Some still operate with the fear notion. Where it is good for employees to fear you.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue education in management. They think they know more than they actualy do. Also don't ask your employees personal questions.
Pros
They will work with you in scheduling.
Cons
They play the politics games. In my experience, they did not do what it took to retain good managers.
Advice to Senior Management
Fire a few people.
Pros
Respect, opportunity to grow after one year.
Cons
Difficult to be hired as full-time at Sodexo USA.
Advice to Senior Management
Give opportunity to new employees to be hired as full-time instead of hiring them part-time only.
Pros
-extremely easy job - mostly manual labor
Cons
-management was horrible
-not guaranteed 40/hrs a week even though it was stated
Pros
Steady work, amazing location, decent benefits, clothing coverages, discounts on various programs, ability to progress quickly, assistance with educational costs
Cons
Lack of supervision, lack of adherence to state and federal laws, inability to fulfill corporate obligations, failure to provide accurate records of pay and time worked
Advice to Senior Management
Throughout my tenure at this organization, I have learned that by simply raising the pay scale, the less efficient and effective labor units would slowly be faded out whereby a productive and beneficial work force could be implemented. This would mean that management would have actual time to complete tasks assigned to them, while knowing that their work force was not inebriated or simply, sleeping.
Pros
This is a company that takes care of there own.....You are able to grow within the company always striving for more...
Cons
Depending on your job you might have to work ver long hours but you are compensated for the time put in...Especially if you just started there might be many nights you spend doing reports..
Advice to Senior Management
Continue for more never be stuck at one position
Pros
The benefits and the hours
Cons
Work overload, mostly working with unpaid and uneducated individuals
Advice to Senior Management
hire more employees
Pros
Working for Sodexo helped me refine my marketing skills while still studying at school. I was involved and various campaigns across campus.
Cons
I had to do a lot of grunt work and was limited creatively. There was not a lot of freedom in designing the advertisements.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow employees more freedom to be creative and to think for themselves. This will get the best productivity out of their employees.
Pros
Good training programs, diversity awareness
Cons
Resistance to change; sr.leadership too removed
Pros
off on holidays
no weekends
no nights
decent pay
free lunch
Cons
uniforms
management treats employees poorly, talks to them any kind of way.
can't wear jewelry/ makeup even when working at the cash registers.
unsanitary, they do not check the food in the cold case shelves and do not check expirations on food.
only have one break for 8 1/2 hour shift
they don't hire enough people
Advice to Senior Management
hiring better employees and intelligent, respectful managers.
