I worked at SoftVision full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

At the time when I was looking for a job, they were one of the few companies that were employing fresh graduates. Also their compensation package is satisfying, with renegociations on regular basis.

    Cons

More care regarding employees, this meaning not leaving valuable emplyees to leave so easily. Also the benefits package could be improved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put some more accent on people.

I have been working at SoftVision full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are good and include meals, sport activities discounts (fitness, swimming, etc) and medical services.
The company has started to improve the quality of work environment by building/buying new modern offices. There are still some offices that are crowded.

    Cons

I believe the middle and even upper management is the biggest problem in this company. They only act "bossy" and tell you what you are mistaking. Most of the people in management staff are non-technical people that were of no use in the actual development process. Yearly review (PDP) will most likely tell you the same thing as in the previous year. Once management sees your weak points it will throw those every year in your face.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should start work for the people, not against them.

I worked at SoftVision full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good place to learn technologies and get a start after you graduate.
Some great people you can learn from, so a good networking place.

    Cons

Bad people skills. You are no taken seriously if your opinion is asked nor the majority. The middle management lacks soft skills, and most of them get to these position based on personal relationships with current middle management. Also middle management have a tendency to appear more friendlier towards employees only to gain information or use them.
Benefits package is less that what they sell it for, and it seemed to get worse along the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Middle management should be chosen based on skills and expertise. The employees don't care how good your company is doing in such great detail as it is presented since they are not paid based on percentages of the gross income. Take more care of the employees, the conditions they work in, what they need.

I have been working at SoftVision full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People of good quality and opportunity to work on many projects. Most projects are mobile, we do a lot a manual testing, less automation. Team Leaders are mainly well chosen with good people skills.

    Cons

3 month notice is a big problem when it comes to changing jobs. Few benefits and bad organizing when it comes to charity events or sustaining the people who wish to participate to marathons, competitions and such.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should consider in listening more to the vast majority opinions and take measures in this way.
Also, do not take it as an offense when people wish to leave, because it's not personal, it's just business.
Common sense and ethics should be applied in such situations and not personal interests.

    I worked at SoftVision full-time

    Pros

Some nice workmates. However the vast majority of the good people have either left the company or are planning on leaving .

    Cons

Horrible PFA contract. You have to give 3 months notice. If you leave before the 3 months, you have to pay 6 monthly salaries. If you stay the 3 months notice period, they will make your life miserable.
They will use any means to make a lot of money from people leaving the company.
Ex : they send you to work on customer's site and if you leave the company in the next year, you have to pay for the flights, hotels, meals, etc . All in all : thousands of $$$ . They send you to courses, if you leave in the next year, you pay for the courses, accomodation, etc.
Way too crowded and noisy work environment.
Payment is via the "PFA trick" and you have to pay all of your taxes yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bad upper/middle management. People who got promoted to Management positions were useless as technical people and they have no clue whatsoever how to manage people.
Yearly reviews are a joke. The managers will use any excuse to justify not increasing your salary.
The employee's opinion is not taken into consideration by management

    Pros

good starting company and a lot of nice people (colleagues)

    Cons

bosses are usually liars. they don't have a problem with lying the customer if they need too, with the available resource.
    nice parties;
they will make you pay if you leave them earlier than 3 months notice and are in general very restrictive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

you should care more about the people and the market, than your profit

I have been working at SoftVision full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It is a good place to start working in the industry, there are skilled people that can guide you.
The salary is decent with yearly re-negotiation
The daily lunch is an important benefit for the employees.

    Cons

They don't value the people. We are just simple resources, some entities that needs to produce money. I've seen lots of valuable people quitting for other companies, and there was not enough interest of keeping those people in.
QUANTITY IS OVER QUALITY. This can be seen in the benefits that are offered, in the way they manage the resource allocation.
They keep telling us how great they are...in fact everybody knows they are just a company that grows programmers for other companies.
Doing overtime is considered a proof of inefficiency, not doing it is considered a proof of lack of interest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put more accent on the employees. Some employees are not actually waiting for material reward for their effort. They are waiting for appreciation! I know many people who have quit not because they were financially unmotivated, but because they were frustrated after their effort and overtime was completely ignored by the management.
I know people who have spent more than 2-3 hours/day doing overtime in order to implement/fix critical issues, and after they were successfully completed, nobody offered them one of two days of vacation. They ignored completely the effort and have considered it normal.

    Pros

Good environment to gain experience. A lot of seniors programmers, where one could ask technical questions and get a good answer.

    Cons

At that time(2009-2010), the working hours were not very flexible, I could say that the timetable was rather tight.
    Bad upper/middle management.
