    I have been working at Software Specialists full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Team spirit amongst the members. Goal oriented. Very fair to employees in terms of compensation. Great commission plan. Variety of requirements both IT and non IT.

    Cons

    Cant honestly think of any!

    I worked at Software Specialists as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    People are helpful. The overall experience is good. Good company benefits for contractors.

    Cons

    Account manager communications with their clients could be drastically improved. Client I contracted to only heard from Software Specialists once after I was accepted for the contract. Other companies were in contact with the client on a monthly basis. Short handed, when key personnel in the office left the company, they were not replaced. All phone calls for the main number went to voice mail of the person that left, and it was not monitored. Changed the contract terms after contract started.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Replace key people when they leave the office.
    Make key decision that pertain to your company and contractors in a timely manner, preferably weeks before they are to go into effects.

    I worked at Software Specialists

    Pros

    SSI is a "work hard, play hard" company. They are sensitive to work/life balance and are very generous to the employees. The employees work hard, have great incentives to succeed, and have a good time together. The owner is a great guy, very family oriented, very easy to work for. The VP is awesome.

    Cons

    Some managers are not managers; well, not good managers. There is a huge disconnect between managers and employees. There is a lack of respect among sales, recruiters and their respective managers. Meetings are way too long and unproductive and threats are issued unnecessarily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Use a recruiter to find better managers. There is a lack of expertise and professionalism among managers and some of the employees. Remember that you get what you pay for. You hire nice people, but they are not necessarily good at what they do. You would be much further ahead if you just bit the bullet, paid for an expert and let that person increase productivity and, consequently, revenue.

    Pros

    Management wants to see you succeed. You're not just another number to them. The company is very reputable and is an easy selling point to potential clients.

    Cons

    Because the HQ only has a few employees, it's easy for mild annoyances to turn into "In-Fighting"

    Don't let pettyness distract you from your job. Some peopel just complain to complain-It may be best to nip it in the bud early and tell that type of employee to "Shut Up and Work", for lack of a better term.

    Pros

    1) Experienced & unbiased management
    2) Employee friendly programs
    3) Good clients (not too many, but they have good clients)
    4) Every employee is treated equal & important
    5) Great incentive structure, good reward programs
    6) Good annual reviews

    Cons

    Experience is NOT the primary or only criteria for growth, they have been promoting juniors as well.. based on performance & potential..While its a GREAT initiative for performers, it could harm senior (average/above average) employees

    Lot of programs started in 3rd year of operations, should have started in 1st or 2nd year.. I feel left out of these now !

    Believes in talent and not relations
    Impressive work environment and culture
    Managers with extensive experience from the same Industry. They give specific attention to each and every role in this company.
    I would rate this place as of the best places for a fresher to start his/her career in Staffing/ Recruitment. They believe in “Training is worth the investment”
    NO POLITICS. No Micro-management. PERIOD
    They are a team. Everybody connected to each other. There is not “I” and it’s always “We”
    One of the best in the industry - Salary & Incentives

    Cons

    Infrastructure & location; had they been operating from one the tech park in Bangalore, It would have been a different story today.

    Very good management I have ever seen. No micro management.Employees are the first face of the company.Safe place to work with,work-life balance,no work pressure,transparency.The most wonderful fact that i love here is everyone are treated equally.This is the best place for those who have passion towards recruitment.

    Pros

    Managers know how to get the best out of any employee, be it a recruiter or admin or even a manager. I have not seen this in any of my previous jobs/companies. Immediate managers or even the higher up one's are always looking for ways to make every recruiter productive and successful. One of the best things I loved here is the concept of recurring commission plan based on "you make money as long as we make money"... highly motivating managers, transparent work culture, no bossy bosses.. Employees haven't left the company in last 2 years to work for a competitor, I guess that says a lot about everything here.. Managers keep everyone informed about everything, no surprises..

    Cons

    Nothing very critical or to worry about.. only feedback would be to increase team events/outings.. company & team is fun, but it would be good to make it even better !..

    Hire some more in Bangalore ! :)
