Violations.. this "business" needs to be audited.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 3 years

ProsNone... you are wasting your time.

ConsNo Human Resources. And thats just a start..

Advice to Senior ManagementA total overhaul of the company structure on how it operates. There is absolutely no accountability leadership in this company. Complete misconception of leadership. This company operates like a Mafia.

Its NO DIFFERENT from a third grade consulting body shop, picking up folks from third party body shops for pennies and fresh grads, under compensating and exploiting them on Visa and immigration aspects. Complete lack of ethics, quality.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.. JUST NOT WORTH IT. You will be just jeopardizing your career.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not impressed

Consultant (Current Employee)
Westchester, IL

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than a year

ProsDecent Salary, I like the no premium high deductible health insurance plan.

ConsIf you are young the vacation policy might seem okay but if you have years of experience it is horrible. The worst vacation policy I have had including the one straight out of school. Bonus structure sucks. Bonus is based on factors outside of your control. Billing rate which the consultant does not control or even have knowledge of. No paid overtime. Horrible holiday schedule. All training is after hours. Although the 401K looks appealing you have to wait 3 years to find out if it is for real or not. Considering other unkept promises I am not holding my breath.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the mickey mouse bonus policy.

Great for Growth in Technology

Director (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGood benefit package to start with however lately they have been pulling back with backhanded benefits

Solid 401k match and profit sharing awards

Alot of IP (from Sogeti and from Capgemini) available however the average consultant is not always informed of these things; self discovery is necessary

ConsSalaries are below industry averages; if you are not in the 'preferred category' in your region you may be given meager raises until you threaten to leave or complain.

Upper Management has a history of changing the game midstream to fit their purposes without notice or explanation

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on communication to mid management and local hr; we are constantly surprised with changes from Sr Management and are then in the line of fire with questions from consultants which we are not able to answer.

If you are going to change something you need to socialize it to management before making the change so we can be prepared and not in fire fighting mode

Sogeti is a body shop, straight and simple

Software Developer (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at Sogeti full-time for more than a year

ProsSogeti pays decently well, about average for the market.

ConsDespite their attempted positioning as a consulting firm for mid-size companies, Sogeti is a body shop. They are much more similar to, say, TEKsystems or KForce than to, say, CapGemini or Accenture in that they make their profit by renting out their staff -- usually programmers -- to client firms. Sadly, they will often try to fit a square peg in a round hole. During my tenure, for example, I saw a Java programmer being rented out as a Business Analyst.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart viewing your staff as humans rather than just a bundle of skills to be pushed off on the customer.

Great for developers, so-so for non-techies. Cheap.

Manager Consultant (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGood training opportunities
Good client base
Growing business
MS and IBM partner
Growing in testing and BI, starting in mobile development

ConsNo raises for non-techies (PMs, BAs)
Bonus is based on factors you have no control over, or you have to give up life outside of work
They constantly look for ways to chisel you (like they essentially dropped comp time this year)
No Agile client base
Long commutes depending on where you live
Will place you into assignments where your skills are not the best fit, just to get you off the bench
Keep telling you how well business is doing but still don't give raises or bonus

Sogeti is a great company to work for with excellent opportunities but they need to be more competitive with salary.

Consultant (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

I have been working at Sogeti

ProsFull MSDN, Free health insurance (high deductible but still), 100% up to 6% match 401k, great management, encourage further learning and development, great experience.

ConsAlways moving around (consulting in general)
Not competitive salary
Promotions are just title changes
Bonus program is biased towards higher level consultants but is used to sell new grads

Advice to Senior ManagementRestructure your bonus program,
Pay your talent to keep them around

ProsSogeti provides employees with tools, and programs to advance their careers - classes, training, tuition and certification reimbursement. Sogeti provides employees with various formats to advance their leadership skills. Sogeti has excellent benefits and a great team environment.

ConsWhile Sogeti USA consultants enjoy working at local area client sites, they may be required to commute up to 1 hour to reach the client site.

A lot of talk but not a lot of action

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

I have been working at Sogeti

ProsAbove average benefits
MSDN subscription
No travel outside of Chicagoland

ConsCounselor program is all talk and no follow through
Only way to move up is through sales
Only way to get a raise is through sales

Advice to Senior ManagementYour best (and only) assets walk out the door every night. Actually do something (as opposed to talk) about encouraging them to return in the morning. You are a company that provides IT Consulting; why not build that instead of all the focus on sales?
