I have been working at Sogeti full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Sogeti has smart and talented consultants who really want to satisfy clients' needs. There's decent benefits including a large 401k match and a lenient policy on tuition/training reimbursement. They've had steady growth for a while and hopefully as their brand name becomes more recognizable, they will attract more prominent clients.

    Cons

Large units like in Ohio probably have great structure and communication, but for years my smaller unit has struggled with this. Organization is lacking and there aren't as many client project opportunities as you'd expect. They will try to shoehorn you into a project if you're on the bench too long, and that's really frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix your communication structure in smaller units.

I worked at Sogeti full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They lure you with false promises

    Cons

I was hired for a position that never existed. I ended up waiting for a project for 2 months , kept getting a response from management that they would place me at the earliest. Nothing materialized and they showed me the door saying I was not a good fit. I realized in 2 months that they just a staffing company and not a solution provider as they claim. Management is pathetic and HR is even worse. They have such a weak relationship with their clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Shut down this unit.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

They offer very good benefits including a high-matching 401k and health/dental, as well as a lot of financial support for education (hardly any request gets turned down). The people are very friendly and definitely strive to grow the company. Account execs work well to engage you on new opportunities, and the company encourages entrepreneurial spirit.

    Cons

Not much culture since you all usually work at different clients in different departments. The bonus plan is complicated and has never been popular. The counseling program is supposed to support your growth, but none of the ones I've had were very engaged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fix the bonus program.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Young consultants can quickly get a wide range of experience by working on a handful of different projects in a short period of time. Getting pushed into projects out of your depth can pay off if you end up doing well.

    Cons

There's very little direction, especially for younger/newer employees. Management can be hard to get in touch with, and there are times that I at least felt kind of forgotten about. Younger employees are often pushed onto projects with little guidance for what they're expected to do, which is stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to throw so many inexperienced resources at a project. It's stressful for the consultants and it makes the company look disorganized to the business, which I don't think reflects all that well on Sogeti.

I have been working at Sogeti as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Fair Payrate, the hiring process was easy avoiding the lengthy and tedious background check process. Capgemini's subsidiary hence can be considered.

    Cons

Field people Not trustworthy, do not keep their promises. I was told that I will be converted to full time within three months of joining, but it has been a year now and the recruiter won't acknowledge emails at all. Plus the people onsite are more keen on selling to client and have no respect for the consultants interests
