I have been working at Solomon-Page Group

    Pros

Active placement team, seem to be very eager to help you find a position.

    Cons

Bad follow-through on communications, inept administrative/payroll people, a general pattern of buck-passing and lack of concern. It was nearly impossible to find anyone who would help fix the mistakes THEY made during onboarding and payroll process. I was truly shocked by how unprofessional they were, and how no one on the staff would take responsibility for a screw-up. To make matters worse, they flat out lied to make it appear that payroll errors were my fault.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your administrative act together. Apologize when you make a mistake. Reply to emails, especially involving vital paycheck issues. Give freelancers a heads up if the information you've provided changes unexpectedly. We're all human; we know things can get hectic. But train your staff to be proactive, and empower them to fix errors that your company makes. Watching members of your staff forward an email repeatedly down the food chain without anyone offering suggestions or solutions is infuriating. The radio silence that follows is even worse.

seemed as though everyone was a manager but it was the least passive aggressive work environment I'd experienced. Everyone was nice

    Cons

stale. cubicle space. recruitment turnover was too extreme. no one taught me how to swim so i doggy pedalled

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take more time to train instead of throwing new employees to the field straight out there.

I worked at Solomon-Page Group as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    Non, non, non, non, non!!!

    Cons

Solomon Page (Old Greenwich, CT) is the most unprofessional Employment Agency I have ever dealt with! One of there recruiters (Matt Petrillo) contacted me, and asked me to have a Skype session with him. He told me the quicker the better, as the hiring company was looking to make a decision quickly. So I took time out of my busy job hunting day (and even cancelled an appointment) to Skype with him. He told me to follow up with him in a week to see if there was any interest in my qualifications. Well, needless to say I sent two emails for the status of my candidacy and no response. I wonder if that’s how they treat all there prospective candidates? I at least have the professional courtesy to let all agencies and prospective employers know the status of my job search. Run as fast as you can from this agency, unless you like being treated in an unprofessional manner. POOR, POOR, POOR!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach your recruiters how to return emails. it is us who puts butter on your bread. Treat people as professionals.

    Cons

The employee retention rate is very poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire mid level managers who were groomed to be leaders as opposed to offering the opportunity to the best individual contirubutor.
