    Pros

    There were a lot of talented people in Solta: engineering, marketing, regulatory, software, sales, etc. Salaries and benefits were good.

    Cons

    Some some management ruled by intimidation, which did not make for a supportive work environment.

    Pros

    The people were very cross-functional, smart, energetic, dedicated and approachable. I would work with many of the people again. We had beautiful offices, an on-site clinic and a clean work environment.

    Cons

    Long hours, small raises, low bonus payout.

    -Benefits,
    -Working environment with fellow colleagues

    Cons

    Take a job here only if you are desperate! The working environment is good for 1:1 with your colleagues but the Sr staff is quiet clueless. This is the only place I have worked where the employees were totally unappreciated. Management seems to think the only way to increase productivity and motivation is by constant threats. Although this will work while the economy is bad, when the economy turns around I expect mass exodus.

    I worked at Solta Medical full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    -Reasonable Work Hours
    -Clean work environment

    Cons

    -Poor communication
    -Unfair playing field, especially for contractors
    -Hypocritical management policies, which results in lots of politics, favoritism, and high turnover
    -Lack of respect for people who actually get the work done
    -Too many long-term employees who are negative, territorial and set in their ways
    -No sense of urgency especially in IT with all the calendar management issues
    -Fake culture
    -HR has too much control which results in poor decision-making for an entire group/dept

    Contractors here are treated as second-class citizens. Solta's word means absolutely nothing from HR up to the Management Team.

    The interviewing for this position started in April 2012 and was placed on hold for 3 months. Then Solta came back wanting to go forward with what was to be a permanent offer but then proposed a 30 day temp to hire. After 3 months of contracting and being told several times from day 45 and on that they wanted to make an offer, the position was still not yet approved because of supposed earnings #'s and then was approved but waiting on HR to compile the offer letter. Finally, after 90 days, it was communicated that there would be no permanent offer... because HR said so, although the VP Hiring Manager wanted to make the offer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Wake up and smell the coffee!

    HR has way too much control and isn't even technically part of the "Management Team" (no reference on the company website). Contractors (and employees) are being treated unfairly and discriminated against which is why there is high turnover.

    The Management Team needs to be more accountable for the actions of the poor management that are creating a hostile work environment and scaring off employees and competent potential new hires.
