I have been working at Sonic part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Car hopping you make minimum wage plus tips, meaning a usual extra twenty bucks in your pocket every night

Generally friendly and fun staff, we always find ways to enjoy the work, and practical jokes are common

Management always seems approachable and friendly, they feel like just another crew member.

    Cons

Physically strenuous, you have to run or skate

Lots and lots of things to learn, not much training. Some new employees don't learn on the fly well.

Not a lot of upward mobility, but hey, it's fast food.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow more time for training, and keep being awesome at everything else. I love it when everyone is busy and you see the manager jump in to get things done.

I worked at Sonic part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fast-paced and challenging environment. Depending on where you work and when you work, the people can be pretty fun to work with.

    Cons

If your location is well-managed, they will make people go home when it gets slow, which really ducks if you are the new guy. Work clothes and also yourself will be greasy and smell nasty. Unless you can go full-time or work lots of hours, don't expect to move up.

I worked at Sonic (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I really enjoyed carhopping. You could potentially make a ton of tips on top of minimum wage, especially during the summer. You also have a very flexible schedule and have no problems getting 30-40 hours if you want it.

    Cons

The hours are sometimes long(8 to 9 hour shifts) and these can be strenuous and exhausting, especially on a hot summer day car hopping. Tempers flare among employees because it can be stressful as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really can't think of anything.

    Pros

Best internship I had..ever! No one treats you as an intern or college student, everyone values your opinion just as much as the next person. They really focus on making sure you get the most out of your internship and actually gain experience. You get to work on actual projects, not petty work.

    Cons

    No cons. Loved it.

I worked at Sonic full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you don't have job experience or a degree, this is one of your first stops in a career. If you want a promotion fast and you have a younger crew, this is the place to get it so you can move up in the world. Good skating carhops usually make more than assistant managers. Current General Manager is a Great guy and respects people who do their work.

    Cons

Ironically, it's easier for people who can't skate to be promoted, because skating carhops are more valuable than managers. If you're live somewhere with lots of older people, you can forget about a promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

management above GM-Not considering someone because they haven't worked at the chain for 10+ years is not a valid reason to not promote them. It's better to have a decent 1st assistant/GM for a year or two rather than a corrupt old guy who couldn't get hired elsewhere because of years of continuous till theft and timecard fraud.
Once thieves have access to the Computers, they can steal as much money as they please. If you catch someone stealing, FIRE THEM or reduce their hours so much that they're forced to quit and you don't have to pay their severance check (people sometimes get fired on purpose in order to take advantage of severance).
