    Pros

Great people to work with. I loved working there when I initially joined the company in 2004. Free takeout dinner every day, ping-pong table for after lunch work-out

    Cons

The pay sucks, the company stock sucked even more. The company started going down-hill back in 2007 and never looked back since then

    Advice to Management

Please try to grow the company by expanding the business not by outsourcing and cutting the costs (laying-off engineers)

    Pros

The company has a solid product, though the market opportunity may have passed.

    Cons

Product late to market, Senior Management is old boys club all based in NY/NJ area while company HQ is Westford. Completely disconnected Senior Management Team.

    Advice to Management

Hire Local Management team, Hire professional sales leader.

I have been working at Sonus Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great technology and collaborative environment. Current senior management team listens to employees and is fixing the missteps of the prior teams. Flexible work hours with remote access. Excellent medical benefits. Cash bonus plan. No matching on 401k.

    Cons

Limited career path in small company. Slow to provide necessary training.

    Advice to Management

Incorporate career tracks into the culture with training for the various tracks - management and technical. Very uneven capabilities across teams.

I worked at Sonus Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pays well, good benefits. Excellent product to work on and learn from. Cutting edge of technology.

    Cons

Expands and shrinks fast, and destroys peoples employments in a hear beat.. Sonus willing to convince someone to resign from a stable job of other company by offering a large Salary, then as soon as a their project or goal is complete, they layoff that person without any consideration. Very high pay, and highly not a trustworthy company at all. They shipped most of their positions off sure, and might higher people for a short period of time to correct their mistakes as they continue to ship jobs overseas.. This is a company to avoid. Do not get fooled by the high offers/salary,, check their long records of layoff the past two year under the new management, with a single goal; to ship most engineering and support jobs off-shore.

    Advice to Management

Re-establish record of employment stability and trustworthy. People's well being and families are not a mat for Sonus to step on and dispose of.

I worked at Sonus Networks full-time

    Pros

Employees in the middle and in the support functions are great.

    Cons

Leadership is the worst I've ever seen anywhere. Complete incompetence. Absolutely zero respect for their employees. Lazy. Will do anything and everything to protect their jobs while blaming their own lack of leadership and performance on others. Executives shower themselves with stock awards and then cut employee incentive payouts. Make sure you do your homework before joining this place. It's truly the most awful place I've ever been a part of.

    Advice to Management

    None. They wouldn't listen anyway.

I worked at Sonus Networks full-time

    Pros

Good salary...while it lasts. Flexible schedule...while it lasts. People were awesome to work with.

    Cons

Major outsourcing to India. Awesome talent in Westford rudely let go. Management in last few years didn't care about employees and worried more about lining their own pockets. Antiquated technologies in use. Found that experience gained at Sonus does not help in career search.

    Advice to Management

Don't let go all the great talent who actually knew the product...oh wait, flux capacitors are found only in the movies.

I have been working at Sonus Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people work hard and mean well

    Cons

Company can't post a profit and is trickling down to hard-working employees. Starting January 1, 2013 they are no longer matching 401(k). There have been 2 huge lay offs within 3 months.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the Sales team and Leadership before laying off the people who do all the work.
