I worked at Sony Electronics full-time

    Pros

A very solid company structure that encourages input from all the levels. You feel like you can actually make a difference in the company as a whole no matter what position you hold.

    Cons

Very unpredictable and very often missed deadlines on product roll-outs makes things very difficult for planning and executing a proper sales strategy.

    Advice to Management

Work beyond the tasks that you are normally assigned. Sony does notice and reward extra efforts. Something that a lot of companies nowadays seem to overlook.

I worked at Sony Electronics (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great work place. It was refreshing to work with Engineers from different Countries and backgrounds. Sony was also a great place to get training on products you work with.

    Cons

Too many tiers of Management. When this happens, the communication gap widens due to the egos that get involved. Engineers are creative people that don't want the hassle of having too many Chef's in the Kitchen.

    Advice to Management

Downsize your Management teams so your products get a fair shot. Don't get so caught up over so many titles because it gets in the way of productivity.
