I have been working at Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are a motivated worker and are willing to perform your tasks with your best ability, being promoted is quick and satisfying. The guests always offer constructive criticism and praise. Souplantation is flexible with scheduling.

    Cons

Being able to mask negative emotions can be challenging at times. Extra work may be needed in case of crew members falling behind/not showing up

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managers are always upbeat and motivated to get their jobs done and see that our standards of excellence are being performed.

I worked at Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes

    Pros

Some really good people, lots of long time employees and strong talent within the company.
You get lots of experience because they operate with minimal staff so you do a variety of different jobs

    Cons

Bad changes in regards to senior leadership. New leadership is not fit to run the organization. Only looks at numbers, has no regard for the people or the brand. Everything is about cutting costs, cheapening the menu, minimal staff, and doing things without questioning the decisions of upper management. Little to no integrity, company doesn't pay the bills on time to manage cash flow, which makes it uncomfortable for the employees of the company when trying to maintain good relationships with vendors. Lots of staff and agency changes over the last 2 years because of "personality conflicts" with senior leadership. Very political environment where things are manipulated to give investors a false picture of success. HR has received several complaints about a certain leader but nobody seems to do anything about it because he's at the top.
No option for career growth because the company isn't growing anymore.
Talent isn't utilized to its fullest potential.
    Minimal pay to restaurant employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what employees and vendors and customers are saying or experiencing. Ask around. But make sure they're kept anonymous or they won't talk for fear of losing their job

I have been working at Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Staff is friendly and the food is good.

    Cons

They try to squeeze as much work out of you at minimum wage, you have no room to defend yourself from disrespectufl customers if you want to keep your job. They don't raise salaries of old employees, but give higher ones to new employees. They make you sign a contract that basically tells you if anything is to happen to you at the job you can't take it to court.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider giving older employees a raise instead of higher salaries for new ones.

    Pros

Free drinks, 3.99 meals, friendly coworkers

    Cons

Long hours, little pay, either super slow or super busy, rude customers. People who complain about prices, too much work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch who your managers are, some know absolutely nothing. Hire people to do certain jobs instead of having one person do everything

    Pros

You got a job. You get paid but salary freezes for years .

    Cons

incompetence mosts of the GMs left wouldn't be crew leaders at other restaurants. People getting promoted just because they will move to another area trying to lead mgrs that performed better than they did.

    Pros

The environment was really cool. There are three managers, two of which I liked a lot.

    Cons

They don't give a damn about you. The pay is crap considering the work load they have you do and the mental and physical stress they put you through. It if it wasn't for my great co-workers, I would have gotten depressed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees. Pay them better, a whopping 8 dollars for closing 5 days out of the week is bullcrap.
