    Pros

Flexible work hours, for the most part everyone was kind, opportunity to contribute

    Cons

Limited growth opportunities, only way to get raise was to threaten to resign, Sr. management knew the issues but didn't act to fix them, nepotism allowed unqualified people to remain in highly paid positions and treat others poorly

    Pros

Was able to learn about the magazine industry and how not to be a CEO (amazed to the poor decisions made with Time Warner).

    Cons

The leadership from the Bonita Springs was a confused cliquish group of people. Sadly, people were promoted based on who they were friends with vs adding value to the organization which ultimately lead to their downfall.

    Advice to Management

Learn that you are not the end all and that customers rule the day. When you try to tell customers who they need to do business, well that client will find business partner that will work with them. The other issues is that too many of the ‘leadership’ people were stuck in 2007, and the world is a whole lot different. I would stay away from anyone that was in a leadership role at Source Interlink as most were not qualified to lead a team at Burger King.

    Pros

People here are great. Very friendly and open to others.

    Cons

Upper management just gave up instead of fighting for the life of the company. In this industry, you need to fight for survival and they just gave up.

    Advice to Management

    Grow a pair.

    Advice to Management

Overall, I had an outstanding experience working at Source interlink. During my career at Source I received several promotions which allowed me to grow professionally. I had the privilege of working with very talented professionals and learning from them along the way. It was very difficult for me to make the decision to leave the company. The only advice I would give to management is to look at putting together a career path structure for new hires. The opportunities are there, but in many cases employee's have trouble identifying their next steps.

Thank you again, Source, for a fantastic experience and opportunity!

    Pros

Good work/life balance, fun people to work with.

    Cons

401k match was removed years ago and still hasn't returned. 5% pay cut across the board has not been returned. No raises of any kind (not even cost of living) and not many promotions within departments. Some departments have executives who have managed to get raises/promotions for their employees but not many. Those that don't have those types of executives are out of luck and will be forced to try to change departments or leave the company. Some people make LESS money now than when they started 5 or 8 years ago.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who you have working for you now. If you value them and want to keep them you need to do more. If not, you are on the right track to have more seasoned employees leave. Sure there will be others to fill their spots (seems to be what you're banking on) but you are losing the brains and experience of this organization. These are the people who got you through bankruptcy and other major changes.
