I worked at Source4Teachers full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexibility, can make your own schedule, work when you want to and where you want to

    Cons

No direct supervisor or boss, pay wasn't great. They say the price is set by the school district but what i'm wondering is how much of a cut does source4teachers get? It can be a nerve wracking job going from school district to school district but once you get comfortable in a certain district they may request you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Should pay employees more

I have been working at Source4Teachers part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The staff is super friendly. They value you as a person and an employee. They truly want you to have a positive work experience. If i ever had an issue I felt more than comfortable going to someone knowing that it would be resolved. They also keep you on file for as long as you want. I took an 8 month break from subbing and the day I wanted to go back to work all I needed to was log onto the computer.

    Cons

Not many to speak of. The only con is the available work isn't consistent, but that really isn't the company's fault. It all depends on the area you work in and what schools you are available for.

    Pros

This is a great way to build up your experience in education and get a good feel of the world of education and if it is for you. The people you work for are really nice and help you along the way if you have any issues.

    Cons

The compensation is awful. You do not make enough to live off of. you will have to take on a second job if you don't want to live on welfare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more so people can live more.

I worked at Source4Teachers full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great concept if being lead by a leadership team that was forward thinking!

    Cons

CEO is socially awkward and the President of the organization has a God complex and depending on the day of the week or which way the wind is blowing your guess is as good as anyone's as to how you might be treated on a given day. Benefits are non-existent, leadership is void. The COO is a former administrator that couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag. As a substitute teacher it;s actually not a bad gig, but I wouldn't work for this company internally. Your stop should be short and sweet!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take better care of your people, treat them with respect, try listening to the employees working their tails off in the trenches every day. Show them a little respect and appreciation!

    Cons

Perhaps at times depending on the time of year wanting more availability of assignments.

I have been working at Source4Teachers part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Working with children is a blessing. The office and teaching staff are always nice and helpful. System is easy to use to pick up assignments. Teachers always leave a lesson plan to help the day go smoothly. I love the elementary age children because I enjoyed doing story time with them and seeing their reactions to the story.
The training was very helpful and informative.

    Cons

Sometimes your assignment can get canceled. Which can be inconvenient to you say if you have another job and you told them you were working and all of a sudden your assignment gets canceled. During the summer the it is very slow assignments are very few. As of yet I only was able to accept one summer school assignment. Say if that is your primary income that could be bad for you.

    Pros

You can work wherever the company offers their services. Flexibility to work when you want to. Can pick places to work online. A lot of places to work. Decent benefits if you need them. They handle all of your paper work and they tell you step-by-step how to become a certified substitute teacher.

    Cons

Compensation varies depending on the town you work in. Can only work during the school year and not any summer programs a school may offer. Process to become a certified substitute teacher takes a few weeks

    Pros

Flexible work schedule full/half day teaching
Location, Location, Location close or far away school locations

    Cons

    Favoritism,
    Demanding Job Expectations
    Less Pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide an substitute teaching opportunity for candidates without teaching experience if they want to enter the profession. Give a worker a chance to redeem themselves instead of coming down on them.

I worked at Source4Teachers as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

NONE because this company needs Progress.

    Cons

This company is very young and hence very underdeveloped. They have taken over school districts in NJ and PA with no vision or sense of professionalism. They DO NOT provide adequate training, DO NOT VALUE their employees, Fire very easily ( If a teacher does not like you they can simply send a report stating "Poor class management" and if a Sub get three of those they are FIRED.) There is no process of appeal, they have no program to reward and recognize good substitute, they have really Nasty Customer Service agents and they will ruin your life and tract record/employment prospects in education. If you get fired by them then you can Never work in NJ or PA as a teacher in the districts that they have taken over. Which is almost every district in the States.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to value your employees and better investigate report. Don't just listen to one side of the story. The way you treat people will go against your company and it will not Last.
