Current Employee - Scanner, Doc Prep, Indexer in Boston, MA

    Pros

Extremely easy work - Whatever the position is, you can do it

Nice employees - employees here are very nice, its not really my "crowd" but everyone gets along great.

Real laid back environment - come in, wear just about whatever you want, just as long as its not graphic, or skimpy

Pay check every two weeks - you get paid....

    Cons

Very repetitive - Depending on what you are doing, whether it be document prepping, scanning, indexing, or QC, the work get tiring, fast. I was brought it as a document scanner, and within the first 3 months I was literally asking to do more, I got into just about all that company had to offer in terms of the lower end of the positions there. I couldn't deal doing the same thing for 8 hours straight, everyday

Boring - No matter what it is, its boring. If you're someone that likes to work in a fast paced environment, this isn't for you, if you're someone that likes to stay to themselves, relax, and just work by yourself then sure you might be able to deal. Just put on some headphones, and zone out

Demands are pretty high - For what this company ask, its just way too much, they expect you to pump out a lot of work, that simply isn't there, if you work too fast, you'll eventually be sent home because there is nothing left to give, if you go too slow, you'll be spoken to about it. When there is work, its almost like they have TOO much, next thing you now you're being ask to work your butt off because they need to make deadlines

VERY low pay - This is a topic of conversation amongst EVERYONE. There are people here who have not been given raises in years, part time employees will most likely never get a raise, while full timers MIGHT get a few cents pay raise every year. Key word "might"

Lack of work - They're many instances throughout the year where there won't be enough work for all shifts(I'm not sure how other offices are, but this specific one consist of three shifts) because of this many people are often called out and told to either not show up or leave early

NO sick days, vacation, and the "benefits" are terrible - You do get holiday pay, but this company only pays you for the major holidays, when most of your friends and family are off because of a nothing holiday, you'll most likely be working. Spring and Summer season, you might be lucky to get 2 days off

I can go on and on and on about what I don't like about this company, but I will say, if you're looking for a part time job this might be a good job, its easy enough to where you can come in, relax a bit and collect a paycheck for not doing much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Higher the hourly rates

Make clients want to come to you - I've seen so many clients take their business elsewhere. thus leaving us with little to no work to go around. with no work, people get called out, and the amount of money people here are getting paid, its crushing to miss a days pay

Create more activities for employees. if you're going to pay people dirt, at least give them some fun, have a quarterly party, set something up where employees can just enjoy themselves for a day, it won't hurt. SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION.

Lastly - Be more consistent with how you operate this business, its so up and down here that you never no what the day will bring, you might come in, then be told you gotta leave early, you might string together two solid months of work, next thing you know you're being called out 2 days out of the week, one year you get a raise, the next, you don't.

Former Employee - Data Entry Clerk in Atlanta, GA

    Pros

Stable schedules and biweekly checks, The work is easy

    Cons

Most people in leadership don't have a clue, 10 minute breaks are over way too soon, they micro-manage like hell, crappy pay, they don't appreciate their employees by over working and under paying them...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should re-evaluate its policies on work-life balance including the 10 minute break policy. As an indexer, your hands and fingers get tired quickly and over working them can cause major damage. You could save your employees fingers and the company money by bumping break times back up to 15 minutes or atleast giving employees a few minutes during the day to stretch their joints and rest their eyes from the bright screen of the computer.

Former Employee - Data Entry Operator in Charlotte, NC

    Pros

Can wear pajamas and they wouldn't care.

    Cons

The hours are 600 am to 3 pm. So if you live out of town like some of us do you have to get up ultra early for a very long commute.

There is no management in the office NONE.

I left recently because of a better job that offered much better pay and closer to where I live.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please have someone from Corporate make sudden unannounced visits. Please do exit interviews with all employees.

Please monitor work ethics and quantity as some people come in and do absolutely nothing.

The pay is horrible for the Charlotte office. We are still in a recession. Gas has gone up so much since the office started in 2011. The economy has a whole is bad so if the pay was brought up to what it should be you would retain good help instead of losing good folks.

There is no parking outside for all the employees unless you walk a very long distance.

    No handicapped Parking at all!

The rules should be enforced to everyone and nepotism in the office is really bad. No one should be hired because they are related to someone especially when they can't perform the job.
