  3.

Great at first. but the bank became more focused on acquisitions than their own employees. Morale suffered greatly.

    Pros

Strong Management Team. Willing to promote from within when possible. Job security with most supervisors. Benefits & Vacation were reasonable. Access to managment team was excellent (in the beginning years)!

    Cons

Morale and doom and gloom attitude need to improve from the top down. The managment team needs to better understand how their visible stress and 'crisis mode' attitudes trickle down and affect the entire employee base and their perceptions about the 'health' and stability of the company. Heavy workload. Little recognition. Some supervisors allow flexible hours & some forbid it. More consistency or understanding needed here. Especially for department changers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about your employees especially your long-term ones. Every job and every person are replaceable, but then again, so is every company. Understand and respect that employee's lives change, and although they might only appear to be working and functioning at roughly 90% capacity in your eyes, they are working at their full capacity. Everyone has struggles. Don't expect to be granted understanding and respect if you can't show the same in return.

I worked at South Carolina Bank and Trus full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

SCBT has great executive management who have successfully grown the company and kept the culture the same, benefits, 401K stock purchase program

    Cons

Pay is decent and acceptable for an entry level position

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a great company. Incentive programs are in place, but I thought there could be a better way to payout bankers bringing in new business.

    Recommends
