I have been working at South Carolina Department of Education

    Pros

The SCDE offers good hours, salary and benefits.

    Cons

Since the SCDE is a state agency you have to deal with politics in the workplace. Jobs change frequently so you have to be willing to accept change. This is difficult for some people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership needs to be more communicative with the employees. Job advancement within the agency should be improved.

I have been working at South Carolina Department of Education

    Pros

It is a very low stress work environment. There are project deadlines, but there is generally no overtime expected to reach those deadlines. The tools and technologies are fairly current and the architects are receptive to new ideas and suggestions.

    Cons

Everything moves at a different pace in government than in a regular commercial business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's a great place to work.
