    Pros

There's always something to do in a jail, it's a fast-paced environment. Lots of support from the corporate office staff to the Regional. Training is key, and they are a CEU provider!

    Cons

Must be flexible with your schedule.

    Pros

The pay was pretty good. Lots of opportunities for you to use your nursing judgment. Perfect for new nurses.

    Cons

You are alone. The company is horribly disorganized. You will be sued every 3 months. You will have no back up from corporate. Policy and procedures are extremely vague to protect the company not you. You will be in constant danger, they are always hiring new guards who have no idea what they are doing and will leave you alone with dangerous inmates. The jail administration sees you as an annoyance and will throw you under the bus everytime. If you want to keep your license and want to keep your sanity run away.

    Advice to Management

Back your employees and be careful with getting into contracts with jails who are looking to pocket the profits instead of providing quality care.

  6. I worked at a small jail, still paper charting, it was more busy on the day shift than night shift.

    Pros

Jail staff for the most part are great, however, the company is full of nothing but LIARS FROM THE TIPPY TOP TO THE BOTTOM. No training at all, absolutely no support from corporate

    Cons

DONT DO IT!!! Walmart treats its employees better than this company. They only care about themselves and making money. I loved working with inmates and jail staff but thats it. Id give them no stars if that was possible. Horrible horrible horrible! Worst company Ive ever worked for

    Pros

I loved working the jail environment. The other nurses were great, the officers were awesome and the inmates were mostly respectful.

    Cons

Corporate does not care about its employees. they only care about keeping jail contracts. The make you jump through ridiculous hoops and there is little to no training.

The shifts were 12 hours and late in the evening, too late for the location that it was contracted out to.

    Cons

Medical care given in a detention center, inmates would be non-compliant

    Pros

I enjoyed working with the inmates and the corrections officers.

    Cons

Very large turn over in management. Minimal training for nursing staff, poor pay for amount of work expected. Benefits are poor and expensive. Favoritism rules with management.
