I worked at Southern Health Partners part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Having the custodial staff as back up during nursing care.

    Cons

Pay was minimal, training was minimal, work-life balance lacked and getting time off was difficult. I was made to feel inadequate. They expected more than the time allowed and was forced to work over without getting paid.

I have been working at Southern Health Partners full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with the inmates and the corrections officers.

    Cons

Very large turn over in management. Minimal training for nursing staff, poor pay for amount of work expected. Benefits are poor and expensive. Favoritism rules with management.

I have been working at Southern Health Partners full-time

    Pros

The people are nice. no reason to be uncomfortable. Training was well done. At the time I had no benefits. The deputies were all well mannered and nice. the inmates were respectable to me

    Cons

The only cons I can think of is there is little room to grow or be promoted. I am a hard worker and enjoy a challenge

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would be very appreciative of the chance to come back to work a Jackson County Correctional Facilith

I worked at Southern Health Partners full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing. There are no pros unless you are related to the President or one of the VPs

    Cons

Management does not care about employees. Consistently expect nurses to operate outside their scope of practice. VPs are a joke and have no clue what they are doing. great place to work if you want to lose your license.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue you need to spend more time supporting your employees instead of policing what people post on Facebook and monitoring who they communicate with. Working for SHP is more like working for Hitler.

I have been working at Southern Health Partners

    Pros

    Good pay And good benefit

    Cons

Poor management and support...... They play favorites and will do anything to hurt their nurses to hold their contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All nurses should be treated as the same no favorites

I have been working at Southern Health Partners

    Pros

Enjoyed working with correctional officers and inmates. They were the only ones that showed you any respect. Yes, a convicted murderer or rapist treated you kinder than management!!!

    Cons

Totally incompetent management and corporate "professionals". Out of touch with employee needs. Terrible benefits - my medical insurance cost me more than my COBRA plan had.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Close the doors yourself before the employees (or lack of employees) do it for you!!
