Still a good place to work because of the parent company

I have been working at SouthernLINC Wireless (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The best thing about SouthernLINC itself is the people. They are good and hard working, albeit somewhat overloaded. Being part of the Southern Company system is actually the biggest perk. It offers excellent benefits to all its subsidiaries, including medical, dental, vacation, 401K, tuition reimbursement and competitive pay.

    Cons

SouthernLINC is in a challenging transition period that has seen an unusual amount of attrition. This increases the workload on the remaining workforce, and management does not seem to be accounting for it. Decisions being made at the highest levels are not being communicated down, and the workforce seems to be divided into those supporting the past technology and those supporting the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate relentlessly, focusing on being open and honest.

I worked at SouthernLINC Wireless full-time

    Pros

It was good. Nothing spectacular. There are some positions to work from home. Good pay only after so many years of service

    Cons

There is no way to get promoted. Its pretty much of who you know. It seems that management make up positions for best friends. In order to grow you will need to apply to outside subsidary company such as Southern Company. The employees base decrease every year due to layoffs.
