    Pros

No time restriction. You cam come office any-time.
You can play table Tennis and carom board all the time.

    Cons

No much work Span only has L1 support
Management hails from BPO they don't know the value of technical person.
If you want to spoil your career then join Span infotech.
No Job security. If You raise any query towards your manager they will throw you out.

    Advice to Management

Stop Hiring relatives and give opportunities to skilled people otherwise you will loose competent employees who can really give the company their best. You need to restructure really fast, because the way you are going is taking you only one way, and that is "The End". I would be surprised if I see Span in existence in 5 years from now.

    Pros

Chandigarh Center is having resources of many niche, diversified IT skills. Multiple platforms, skills to offer in development as well as IT operations projects.
One of the top 10 IT org in Chandigarh by size as well as by tech skills.
Flexible in/out/lunch time. 5 days working. Free tea/coffee.
Great infra, one of the best in tricity of Chandigarh.
Good onsite chance to Nordic/US for 10-20 % of resources every year. Every year hundreds of engineers go onsite to Europe for couple of weeks to an year+.
Monthly employee engagement activities are great (especially annual cricket tournament, offsite trip & grand annual function)
Great opportunities for freshers of Chandigarh & nearby states Also some lucky ones might get trained on niche skills whose training is costly & not available in market.
Medi-claim/ health insurance cover / accidental cover for self, spouse & kids is good (though company should pay full premium for the parents as well rather then 50-50 %.
    Offers best appraisals in Chandigarh.
Job security is big plus, even if you are on bench. Hardly any resource is fired (unless it’s rarest case like disciplinary action related to severe acts like fraud), Even that is smooth & ethical without giving much trouble to such employee.
Chandigarh is a small, beautiful & well planned city which offers less crowded place/little crime/ good roads/ many well maintained green parks in each sector / very few traffic jams/ good food/ample family time on weekends/weekdays. Hill stations of H.P & U.K. are nearby for weekends outings. Chandigarh Center is obviously in the Best City of India. You save an hour plus every day for your personal life, credit goes to little traffic when compared to Metros. In 40 minutes you can reach opposite ends of the tricity (approx 25kms). It’s pollution free & have all beautiful seasons to enjoy.
Stable, peaceful life for peace loving people.
A city which has every good thing metros have minus all the drawbacks.

    Cons

Favoritism is here too as is common everywhere, concern is it's increasing to alarming levels & owners need to take account of it before it's beyond control .
Intelligent resources are not utilized to their potentials while less deserving favorite ones at times or often get more opportunities. It's more of face value then actual knowledge & intelligence. It's org onus to identify the extraordinary or potential resource, promote & groom them, offer opportunities to excel & perform. Very few have great aptitude & they learn the fastest & do quality work. They will give even better results if trained but not every one can respond that good to training & opportunities like the intelligent , knowledgeable & mature resources. So identify the talent among all the teams by written tests, group discussions, knowledge sharing sessions happening in presence of Sr HR & Management resources etc.
Do go for independent IQ tests to find the intelligent people & focus on their utilization. Don't make them report to person with little IQ, little knowledge & less maturity. Else intelligent ones will move out one day & less deserving ones will remain with you
No own canteen facility. Food items from outside vendor(lunch) should be subsidized (50 % cost)
CTC is moderate as per industry standards across pan India but for Chandigarh Industry is among the top 5..
Hardly dozen of job options in CHD tricity with other good IT organizations.
SEZ unit restrictions on parking/ entrance/ exit etc are strange at times.
Parking fee inside sez area is high and so is food facility.
Go for own building rather than paying rent of half a crore & bear the landlord & comply to their whims.

    Advice to Management

Focus on Pros & improve them further to your strength, Work on cons to remove or reduce.
Maintain Pyramid structure in all teams. Hire or make less Leads/ Deputy Managers/ Managers (8-15 year) & more task doers (1-7 year). Else Senior Engineers get do the work of junior as well as Senior Engineer & eventually will quit.
Check favoritism & promote employees who are intelligent & deserving. Check referral & hiring of relative in reporting line of a resource to safeguard organization's interest.
Hire & Retain employees who are native of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, H.P, J & K, U.K. as they will serve you the longest plus will reduce your attrition. The ones from Delhi/NCR/other southern /eastern/western regions will stay max for 1-2 years & will switch once they get huge money at their nearby/preferred places. So for such resources all investment by org is short lived + new investment is to be made for replacement.
Hire resources with good IQ & basic aptitude as those can learn, mould better & early then the ones who don't have good aptitude. Else it's tough for people with good IQ to work under the senior ones who don't have the required one.
Team Lead, Project Lead, Manager should have good interpersonal skills & intelligence. They should have people skills rather than just having required total experience on resume. Impart training on human skills not just for formality but implementation.

Every year once check the experience related docs of all resources to ensure one has not shown exaggerated experience to take advantage of more benefits, better role & appraisals.
Experience should be qualified & verified by age, relevant knowledge, relevant educational qualification & tech skills. Manager also should have the relevant qualifications, intelligence & knowledge to justify their role rather than just year of experience & comm skills to boast about.
