    Pros

If you are looking for a dead end job working along with a lot of legacy employees who feel so secure about their job that they don't mind creating delays in projects, then this is the place for you. Just work for about 5 years in the design group and you also will become a legacy employee.

    Cons

Too many managers who can't get this ompany to become profitable...ever. They expect everyone to work as if the company is a start up, yet the compensation and bonus packages are lame.

    Advice to Management

Offer better compnesation packages get rid of legacy employees that bring overall morale down Hold all management accountable for the company's success EXECUTE plans and stop "reorganizing" if you can't accomplish anything

    Pros

In terms of technology, it is at the forefront. So it is a great place to work with a bunch of highly skilled experts advancing and creating products we can be proud of. Colleagues are great too!

    Cons

Management sucks. In this latest economic crisis, the management has shown little respect to its dedicated workforce. They laid off 30% of employees and gave themselves a 10% raise the very next day. Not the way to go, dudes!

    Advice to Management

Management needs to respect their people.

    Pros

The group I worked with was great. The work was usually interesting, and I enjoyed the disappearing "AMD" culture. Generally at the level where work actually gets done, there are a lot of great people.

    Cons

They are willing to lay you off without any notice and no severance package, even violating the law. The new CEO, John Kispert, is as incompetent as he is heartless. The layoff stunt in parallel with executive pay increases was a PR nightmare that should never have happened, even just beyond the ethics. They have complete disregard for the welfare of employees. I would never recommend or work for this company again. After all, you could be next.

    Advice to Management

    Develop some basic human decency.

Flash memory can be found in nearly every electronic device- in cell phones, cars, printers, networking equipment, set-top boxes, high-definition TVs, games and other consumer electronics. As people continue to demand more multimedia content in their homes, at work and on the go, and as electronic products become increasingly complex, the amount of Flash memory in electronic devices will continue to grow. With a primary focus on the integrated Flash memory market, our solutions are incorporated into electronic products from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including the top ten handset, consumer electronics and automotive OEMs around the world.

    Cons

low pay, bankrupt, firing without severance

    Advice to Management

    Pros

There are some very high quality individuals that work here. Please be kind to them when they inevitably come looking for that next job. Also, it is a paycheck in an otherwise poor economy, but as far as management goes, they are as Morally Bankrupt as they are Economically Bankrupt (Chapter 11).

    Cons

Do not come to work here! The Company will say anything to get you to come, when it hires. When they don't deliver it will be "Well, things change". They don't pay out their bonuses, and they will probably give you a paycut after a while. Everyone received a 5% pay cut. No communication on if its permanent or not. Executives kept full pay, as they bleed the company dry. Inherently unstable, may not be here in a year. The business model here is still broken, I believe the are mortgaging their future to live for the day. At least they provide jobs during a poor economy, too bad there is not a real future.

    Advice to Management

Stop running a political shop, and start focusing on real measurable productivity. Reward those that put up, remove those that don't. You don't have enough free cash/energy to continue to tolerate the deadwood that still fills the halls.

    Cons

Not a good environment for personal and professional growth, unless you're into the dealing with mediocre engineers and full blown bureaucracy

    Pros

Honestly none, but after giving some thought I would have to say that you do have some good people from whom you get a deserved respect for your hard work Great place for contract job as you get more respect as compared to full time employees

    Cons

In experienced Senior management not knowing what is the meaning of thought leader ship and doing lip services for self promotion. No respect for Experience, Talent, Integrity, Accountability & Dedication Too many Directors & VP''s

    Advice to Management

Don't lose good employees who actually work hard for the company. Senior management is not fully competent . Have a independent survey to identify incompetent folks that would help to retain good employees at the bottom. Have a good criteria for promotions , Just not promote people for doing their regular job Do you need very top heavy organization? Give some thoughts to fix the top heavy structure and balance with some real employees who actually could work which would bring some work & life balance for Employee.

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Spansion full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is plenty to be happy about at Spansion from a business performance perspective. With positive cash flow for consecutive quarters, it is clear that the executive team (post bankruptcy) know what they are doing, however heartless and greedy they have been while doing it.

    Cons

The manufacturing facility is aging and so is the management. There are no opportunities for growth or career progression, as the mid-management team has been set in stone for over a decade. Idle mid-"managers" do a poor job of rewarding excellence and refuse to manage out poor performers.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house
