Advice to Senior Management
Listin to your employees. They are the reason for your sucsess. Keep working to become the big dog...but dont try to ACT like the big dog.
Pros
small co culture, entrepreneurial spirit
Cons
political backbiting between senior mgt members, no clear path for promotion
Advice to Senior Management
offer clearer career growth paths
diversify product offerings
Pros
There is a strong team ethic here and some really strong performers that you can learn from. If you are on a good team with a decent manager things will flow very smoothly. Good place to expand horizons if you are ambitious and know where you want to go in the future.
Cons
Seems as if departmental goals are not aligned, which leads to conflicting demands on individual contributors. Corporate strategy is unclear to many employees; company as a whole is overly sales focused.
Advice to Senior Management
Align incentive structure so that different departments, e.g., sales & manufacturing work with each other, rather than competing for resources.
Develop a focused strategy and communicate it to all employees. Managers should be able to communicate to their direct reports how their individual work adds value to the company.
Beware growing top line at expense of the bottom line.
Pros
Great location, great people, lots of opportunity to learn.
Cons
Ugly building, benefits lacking, most communication from the top is negative.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your employees more
