I worked at Spectrum Laboratory Network full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Healthy raises given, room for growth, and interesting line of work.

    Cons

Extremely demanding hours for lab workers, very few chances to use vacation time, management does not allow any exceptions for sicknesses even when directed by a physician. Dictator style of management for those working in the lab, human resources offers little if any support to the less than ideal working conditions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to listen to employees, have a neutral setting to discuss problems. Learn to give employees a work/life balance so that they do not feel as though their lives revolve around work.

I worked at Spectrum Laboratory Network

    Pros

Company is very focused on patient care and excellent service. Company follows through on promises to customers. I am proud to represent Spectrum because management goes above and beyond to do the right thing.

    Cons

Regional lab could be sold at any time. Less name recognition than national labs. Lack of marketing resources. Employee benefits are a bit light - high deductible on health insurance, premium a bit high and delay for new employees getting insured and 401k.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in marketing. Continue to invest in lab. Continue to push growth and expand within the geography.

Good company, but needs more communication between corporate and field reps.

I worked at Spectrum Laboratory Network

    Pros

Spectrum offers quality customer service to their clients and seems to truly care. Co-workers are all friendly and fun people to work with.

    Cons

There was a lack of communication between managers and corporate to their field reps at times. Some territories didn't receive enough attention if they weren't close to greensboro were corporate was located.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more support and communication to your territories outside of greensboro. Offer more education at the beginning of employment instead of throwing reps into the field to figure it out.
