    Pros

Had some of the best management staff I have ever worked for, had some awesome coworkers, monthly bonuses and weekly pay

    Cons

Starting pay not that great, expects a lot from you, high stress, store managers are extremely under appreciated

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your workers they deal with the day to day business

The "Benefits" and pay aren't worth it.

    Pros

You get paid weekly. That was really the only positive thing I could find about working at this company.

    Cons

    Where do I begin?

    - No breaks despite working up to 10-hour shifts. That includes food, water, bathroom, and rest.
    - No discounts, despite laboring like a slave all day
    - No deviation from a strict routine.
    - No creative thinking is encouraged, you must stick to the pre-posted guidelines at all costs.
    - No forward movement for career opportunities
    - Uncomfortable, poorly-made uniforms
    - Mandatory sales without commission
    - TERMINATION if mandatory sales are not met
    - In smaller stores, you will find yourself frequently working alone on 2nd shift (when things get very, very busy.)

    Advice to Management

Quit putting so much pressure on the employees to make sales with products that aren't popular. Actually encourage thinking outside of the box rather than punishing it, allow some time for your slaves to catch their breath, and quit using the word "Premium" to describe everything you sell.

    Pros

Tenure within organization. State their is potential for growth & development.

    Cons

Vacation & holiday time is poor.

Have a lot of "check the box" tasks.

    Advice to Management

Be collaborative and listen to ideas from all levels in organization before decisions are made.

    Pros

    Weekly paycheck..coworkers ..regular customers. .benefits

    Cons

Horrible work life balance, store employees work like a slave and its still not good enough to corporate..it's a do more..do more mentality with not enough hours or ppl to accomplish it all..unrealistic expectations on inspections so they don't have to pay bonuses. NO BREAKS..10 HR DAYS. Everyone is miserable working there just look at their faces next time you go in. The only ones happy are the corp. Execs as they laugh all the way to the bank due to the sweat off the store employees back. Store employees are treated like crap thus reason why there is such high turnover..The worst I've ever seen at any company I've ever worked for in 25 years ..Overall atmosphere sucks due to way company treats their employees.

    Advice to Management

Maybe you should listen to your employee reviews to make yourself a better company to work for rather than bribing the hr dept to write fake "good" reviews...the overwhelming true response from your employees both past and present is horribly negative and with good reason- IT'S THE TRUTH!!!! Make better working conditions and treat employees like human beings rather than robots that you can throw out anytime. Best decision I ever did was QUIT!!

    Pros

Weekly Pay. Good bonus structure. Lots of locations. Expanding. Meeting lots of people every day. Competitive pay for Co-Managers and Store Managers.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations from there part time employees. Depending on location, the store manager may be a poor manager. For management your bonuses is affected by 19 KPI's. On any given month, 8-10 of these kpi metrics are completely out of your control. Slow advancement. for part time employees, the hours fluctuate a lot. If you aren't a people person, don't apply for this company. People are the business,

    Advice to Management

Understand you kpi's. Learn how to develop your employees. Learn your customers likes and dislike. Be personable. Your customer can tell if you are fake smiling. 50 hours a week can easily become overwhelming. Learn to have the proper Work/Life balance

    Pros

Solid income, fast paced, always work to be done, fairly secure

    Cons

I worked for Speedway for 3 years as a Store Manager. The work was fast paced and always challenging. The hrs. were pretty long (5a-3:30p + weekends). Speedway is a place you can build a career but I question the legitimacy of recent posts. They seem to be from current HR staff who are trying to attract new employees by giving 5 stars to. 2-3 star company. I have friends that still work for the company and the bonus program has become almost impossible to meet. In past years a good size store could bring in 1k to 2k per month on average for the store manager. I have heard those days have ended. Speedway isn't a terrible place to work, but keep in mind that this is a stressful retail company to work for ( it is retail). You will deal with call in's, turnover, and thousands of customers per year. That work is great for some people and not for others.
