Pros
Being a Microsoft full time vendor, Spherion allows flexible work schedule to those, whose responsibilities allow for it;
Working on Microsoft campus allows access to many campus commodities;
Cons
Many hourly-paid employees get over utilized during busy seasons and required to work overtime without getting approved to get paid for it in order to meet SLA's;
Management in general creates an uneasy atmosphere making sure employees are aware they are being constantly watched;
Employer-employee trust difficulties, employees are usually prevented from making any sort of decisions regardless of its impact and benefit to long term and day-to-day operations;
Insurance benefits are really bad and are not covered by the company;
Career growth within the company is not encouraged by the management;
Promotions and salary raises do not happen based on performance, time contributed and recognition;
At times, working environment feels like working in a "sweatshop"
Advice to Senior Management
To be more aware and concerned of working atmosphere some of them create;
Review their treatment towards the employees whom they manage directly;
Consider salary raises based on performance and time contributed to the company;
Pros
If you want experience in Staffing, Recruiting and Operations, Spherion is a good place to start.
Cons
Executive Level Management has no interest in understanding daily operations even to a certain level. They treat employees like numbers, cutting critical positions even without understanding the gravity of that decision and impact to the overall business.

Take to heart when you say "We are in the people business".

Contract work provides the flexibility to work at other companies.

As an employee during contract work, there is very little interaction with Spherion…unless they are late with your pay check.

Horrible medical benefits, very little job security, little to no opportunity for advancement without moving to a different company. You must document every job action you take because you are meant to be replaceable at any time -- Spherion is a vendor company and they can lose their contract easily.
Advice to Senior Management
Give respectful benefits. I have a friend (college student) who works part time at Blockbuster Video and she has better medical benefits than me.
