    Pros

Half day Fridays in the summer, barbeques on Wednesday, great pay, extra cash for lunch in busy season, lots of vacation days, flexible work hours, lots of promotions, firm is growing fast. There is a nice park to eat lunch at next to the building. The below reviews that are angry and bad are from people that left the firm. They had their own issues and what they are saying is not true. The firm does listen to its employees and strives to maintain a happy work environment.

    Cons

It does get cold in the building but we are allowed to have space heaters.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and acting to the employees advice.

    Pros

The growth of the firm is tremendous. Opportunity for professionals to be promoted exists at many levels. Management pushes employees to their potential. This firm is made for people that want a career not just a job.

The culture has drastically changed in the last couple of years. As a female, I feel like I have a good future here. They listen to my feedback. I have seen many promotions and look forward to mine.

    Cons

The building could be a little warmer. It is hard to complain about the little things, since the overall atmosphere is that of a group of driven professionals.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for treating me as a professional and continue to listen to the staff. The 1/2 day Fridays and other benefits really help.

    Pros

    4 weeks vacation
Every other Friday off in the summer
    Great work/life balance
See the entire audit process from beginning to end
Partners are easy to talk to and encourage the staff to actually communicate with them and not be afraid to step into their office
Great place to polish up on Excel skills, communication skills, and the Hedge Funds industry as a whole

    Cons

so far, none. May have different opinions after the busy season, but the firm is working hard to make sure the busy season is not as bad as it sounds.

    Pros

You get to see alot of varieties of investments. Also, you get to experience a poorly run CPA firm

    Cons

Completely unprofessional. If you are a female, you will get sexually harassed, and if it doesn't happen to your face, it will most certainly happen behind your back with the partners being the ones leading the charge. Questionable audit and tax practice as well. The shortcuts they take for things would leave any professional questioning their objectivity.

    Advice to Management

Managing partner, don't talk about how hot the interns are when everyone can hear you. Tax partner, be friendlier.

    Pros

The firm offers an above average compensation package, 4 weeks vacation, bonuses, fridays off during the summer.

Location is not in huge high rise

    Partners are vary accessible

    Cons

The partners are stuck in the old school ways of auditing, dont embrace technology. The managers and partners are horrible with dealing with staff seniors and supervisors. They treat them with no respect

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the lower levels. Dont let the firm be a food ol boys club and you will retain a lot more people. Broaden the expertise of the firm, way too niche within a small corner of the financial services area

  7. Niche firm dealing with alternative investments.

    Pros

You get to be autonomous. Compensation is competitive with Big 4 and better than other local or regional firms. Every other Friday off for 3 months in the summer. Strong performers are rewarded. Staff are eligible for bonuses. High visibility and exposure to partners.

    Cons

Busy season is stressful. If you perform below expectations, you will hear about it. Staff have a little too much exposure to partners, especially if they are average to below average performers. Staff have to handle things that managers deal with at other firms.

    Advice to Management

Staff get too much blame when things don't go well. Experienced lateral hires are treated better than their internally developed peers.

    Pros

Starting salary is higher then in other places. You get to do tax and audit, and pick which one you like to do. Some managers are nice, peers are helpful.

    Cons

unprofessional management, a lot of office politics, no work/ life balance, very little respect for employees and their personal lives.

    Advice to Management

Don't swear at your employees. Manage your stress better and don't take it out on the staff! While all the other CPA firms are doing everything they can do reduce turnover by showing their staff how much they appreciate them, you actually drive them away!
