Chaotic work environment, sometimes grueling sometimes laid back.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Gainesville, FL

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time for less than a year

ProsVery flexible schedule, free lunch. Your coworkers are very nice and understanding if you get frustrated on the job. Being the last one in the office can be very relaxing. Customers tend to be easy to work with as well.

ConsNo training, learn everything as you go. Boss changes his mind on what he wants a lot. He gets very nit picky and stops seeing the big picture on projects. Poor graphic design choices in general around the office.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain your employees. If you want your employees to know more about the product, allow them time to learn it, or bring it home to study it. No one in the office fully understands how NMR works except the boss. The boss doesn't fully understand the programming behind the computer boards.

Horrid management, low pay, good only for a short time.

Electrical Engineer (Former Employee)

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time for less than a year

ProsFree lunch Fridays, flexible schedule, good coworkers, gain some experience.

ConsThe "Boss" can't manage at all. Very hypocritical, changes his mind often, belittles employees, micromanages, nitpicks at inconsequential things. Expects a lot out of you and is extremely critical if you make a small "mistake". Always seems to convince himself that you have done something wrong.

Pay is extremely low for engineering work.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire an actual manager. The less time you are there the better.

I have been working at SpinCore Technologies

ProsLearn pcb/vhdl/C coding. but your paid is very low, maybe less than 10$/ hour.... The boss is nice, and all the guy works there is part time student.

Consthe pay is very low, maybe less than 10$/ hour.... the boss some times change your project in the middle.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more, and hire more engineering guys with experiences. Complete the hiring process(some guys have been rejcted once, and accepted in another interview in 3 days later.)

You need to be a certain type of person to work here.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at SpinCore Technologies

ProsHours are very flexible, even when you set your schedule the owner is understanding if you have classes or something else and can't come in.
If you are willing to take a lot of feedback and criticism you will learn a lot.

ConsVery low pay.
The owner is nice, but he can be rough around the edges some times.
There is no one to mentor you when you first start ( you have to learn a lot by yourself).
Working in groups to complete an objective is frowned upon.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet people work on projects for a few days before wanting an update and be more open to change.

A good place to visit, but I wouldn't stay long

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at SpinCore Technologies

ProsOwner/management is typically friendly and amiable. Plenty of freedom to learn new skills. Work hours were typically flexible. Company provides many opportunities to local students

ConsPay was low considering the nature of the work. Very little apparent structure to the company. Goals and deadlines are often unclear. It's apparent that nobody other than the owner is planning on working with the company longer than a year or two.

Advice to Senior ManagementCompany needs more structure and the expectations/culture should be more clearly defined.
