I have been working at Spirax Sarco

    Pros

It's a supporting, at times family atmosphere, relaxed working environment

    Cons

Decisions are made cloak and dagger, consultation is just for show, you have a minimal say in your career, but you may get a carrot dangled in front of your face, and then may feel used when you eventually never catch the carrot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be real, consider your decisions and their implications on the business and it's people, think a little less "I" and a little more "we". Walk the walk don't just talk the talk, and be a little more aware of who you employ in key positions. Leave the politics, do more business, and remember the way you keep score of business is how much money you make, not how many friends you have.

I have been working at Spirax Sarco

    Pros

Pay very well, and have the opportunity to work alongside various industries. Limited scope for further career advancement. Working in the field, you are very much at the coal face of this company.

    Cons

Expected to work long hours, on top of many hours in a car. Benefits package is poor and they award "high achievers" with a paltry bonus. A huge difference in attitude between outside and inside staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company takes too long to change direction. And appears not to take obvious solutions to present problems. Since change in high level management there has been a lull in morale.
