I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - One of the best contracts in the airline industry.
    - We sell beverages inflight so you don't have to put up with customers that "expect service"
    - Commission on all sales
    - Job Stability.
    - Great benefits.
    - You don't sit on reverse long (typically 6 months to a year)
    - Everyone is young and energetic and fun to work with!
    - Management is very kind, they have an open door approach.
    - Company is growing like crazy
    - You have the potential to make a lot of money (inflight drinks commission, credit card applications, ect...)
    - Amazing union.
    - Super nice hotels.
    - Brand new, flight attendant friendly Airbus 319, Airbus 320 and Airbus 321 jets.

    Cons

    - Since the company is growing like crazy there are some minor growing pains
    - Lack of ice in some airports
    - it can be hard to fly for free since the flights are always full.
    - Most gate agents are unhappy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up what you do! However I wish there was more advertising.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Health care (at the moment) is excellent, great people to work with, see the nation and world on travel benefits/on the job.

    Cons

No non-revenue travel until 3 months of employment (including Spirit).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about a commuter policy for your flight attendants?? Get off the pilot high horse and give some love to the hardworking flight attendants...you know you have a fair share of commuters, even if you do not approve of commuting! Get serious.

    Pros

there are no pros working with spirit, they take take take take and never give. The moment you reach max pay, they find a reason to fire you.

    Cons

you will spend your life getting yelled at by customers and degraded by supervisors. Its a horrible company that does not care about customers or employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a gun and shoot yourselves in the head.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people, flexible schedule, the benefits are AMAZING. Bases from coast to coast. A business model that works for customers, employees, and investors.

    Cons

You are away from home often, sometimes working different shifts. Passengers often are new to flying or fly infrequently which has its challenges.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. Work on consistency of policy enforcement throughout the system for both customers and employees.

I worked at Spirit Airlines as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

It's a job for a large airline that is located in south florida

    Cons

Arrogant and smug management from the top to the middle. They constantly move people around and bully them into making moves they don't want and then try to get them to quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop haing Jet Blue envy. You nickle and dime your passengers and you refuse to admit it. Your middle managers are overweight and loud obnoxious bastards.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fabulous health benefits, 401 K, when you have a line you can make your own schedule, some great flight attendants, AMAZING UNION, flight benefits, travel, fun job.

    Cons

Cleanliness of planes, stocking problems, no stock options, management is totally disconnected , planes run constantly so maintenance can not keep up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Planes need to be cleaned( I've never seen the bathrooms cleaned!) , stocked and maintained better. This is part of our customer service. It makes our company look bad. I believe it would make our company more money if these issues were addressed.

    Pros

    Lot of growth opportunities,
    Fast paced challenging work environment,
Upper management supports with constructive ideas and trusts in giving additional responsibilities if you are in it to win it !,
Good Salary and annual increase is fair based on individual performance,
    Great Travel and Medical Benefits,
A proven business model resulting in lot of future slated projects which will help in job security.

    Cons

Increase in growth has resulted in more employees and Spirit Customer Center is running out of space. Does not have a better work office with latest equipments and a clean office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should start giving employee stock options - This will make significant change in employee productivity and will automatically bring smiles,
Increase company reputation with our end customers - We can do this with our proven business model!

I worked at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

An Airline trying to compete with some of the major airlines.

    Cons

The airline operates very un-professionally....The culture proves that there is no loyalty to their employees. I was employed for over 1 year as a supervisor with 7 other supervisors, and after 1 year I was the last supervisor employed. I even had other employees from other airlines asking me why the turnover rate was so high, and I had no answer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop Laying off quality employees... You can not start a career with a company that does not value their employees...
