    Pros

    Cons

Company moral needs some help. A lot of negative comment roam around the sales floor

    Advice to Management

Listen to the ideas of your employees and management staff. Corporate need to take us into account when deciding on policy.

    Pros

You do get a good discount. That's the only pro.

    Cons

Overloaded with tasks and constantly spread too thin. Upper management has unrealistic expectations of project completion times. You always feel hurried and never satisfied. Its a toxic environment.

    Advice to Management

Be more considerate of your employees and don't expect people you hire at the bare minimum rate to perform like people who make more. Its insulting and condescending.

    Pros

Good Discount There's always something to do Very fast paced work enviroment

    Cons

Poor Management Decisions Many Lazy Managers No Holidays Off Unrealistic Goals for sales staff Good work goes unnoticed Management is stuck in pointless meetings and conference calls most of the day. Absolutely unnecessary morning meetings, everyday.

    Advice to Management

Management only really pays attention to the brown nosing. Regardless of how good and capable someone is at their job if for some reason they dislike you. you can say goodbye to any advancement opportunity. They play favorites very hard and tend to only promote those that they are very close with even if they are not right and under skilled for the job. The level of professionalism among the co managers is laughable and if you have a career plan for a specific individual please go talk to them and tell them what the plan is, instead of having private meetings and keeping them in the dark.

    Pros

Get to be around sports. Fun team members and great team feeling but that's really up to the type of people your co workers are not corporate input or implementations.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Always below minimum for staffing day to day work schedule. Waste money on things they don't need and won't pay for things we do need. High expectations with low compensation. Ridiculous and disrespectful raises. The corporate mindset is we are not worth anything to them. No effort made on corporate to promote good Morel at the store level. District manager manages based upon negativity.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be completely overhauled from top to bottom. This company is really a joke when it should be great.

    Pros

Good discount. Benefits are provided to all employees, even part time workers.

    Cons

Disorganized management. Corporate doesn't seem to trust local management. Higher ups visit the store every month making sure the store is running properly. Employees were forced to stay late hours before the higher ups came and straightened up the store and put for signage that should have been put up days or weeks before. Sometimes we would stay until 3am cleaning the store. On regular closing nights the store would close at 9pm but we would stay cleaning up for up to 3 hours come nights. NO COMMISSION! So theres really no incentive to push customers to buy large ticket items. Selling extra coverage plans (ECPs) or insoles are one of the main factors to how many hours employees would get. $1 was rewarded to employees to each one they sold, but selling add on items is very difficult and unnecessary for customers to buy.

    Advice to Management

Better manager training in team work and business. The managers I had were very incompetent and had to ask for my advice at times.

    Pros

Decent starting wages as most companies start out at minimum. Growth within the company is frequent and easily available

    Cons

Not enough employees to cover the sales floor and finish assigned tasks. Terrible Management Ineffective Leadership Too quick to promote staff that isn't ready for said promotions

    Advice to Management

Be more selective of whom gets a promotion and provide more staff for sales floor so non-sales floor positions can do what needs to be done without needing to stop to continually answer customer question.

    Pros

    Discount; that's really about it.

    Cons

Constant struggle with payroll. You can't expect a store to run properly with 4 people in the building that make minimum wage. Unrealistic goals that are always being increased with no support from the corporate level.

    Advice to Management

This is for Senior management: Communicate better with your stores. Take more advice from the leadership within your stores. You need them to drive your sales.

    Pros

Great employee discount and fun people to work with. It is fun to talk about sporting equipment

    Cons

Hours are very inconsistent and they care about protection plans and loyalty sign ups too much

    Advice to Management

Make it worth it to be a cashier because they can't benefit as much as those working the floor where protection plan sales happen.
