    Pros

    Excellent discount
Great group of managers with years of experience
    Great benefits and 401K
Working with sports items is a lot of fun. Apparel is a joy to merchandise for the creative types and footwear is the best for costumer interaction

    Cons

Unrealistic goals and tasks based on allotted payroll.
Company in a lot of debt and it is felt tremendously at store level in their knee jerk reactions.
Implementing too many new TESTS in stores while the regular day to day functions are barely met.

    Advice to Management

Planing and expectations based on realistic customer traffic, payroll and tasks.
    Work life balance.
Rebuild confidence throughout the company. It feels like this company is going out of business.

    Pros

Competitive associate discount, get to work with product that is fun and have passion fo.

    Cons

The company lost touch with customers and customer service. They truly don't care about their customers or employees.

    Advice to Management

Get back to your roots and actually care about you customer. Staff your stores with more than 4 people (customer service and safety issues)

    Pros

Awesome discount! It's manufacturers price plus 15% so it ends up being around 50% the tag price for most things. Up to 80% or more if it's one of sports authority's brands. (I.e classic sports)

    Cons

Management was completely incompetent. Co workers are not very intelligent. Work your butt off and you still get barely any hours (I had 8 a week when I left) meanwhile the hot female employees get as much as they want

    Advice to Management

Don't hire your bestfriend to be the co manager (cough cough)

    Pros

Worked in the golf area and the crew was fun, good discounts on all the store products specially sports authority brands

    Cons

Terrible management. They didn't have control of anything and if you showed promise the would not help you at all

    Advice to Management

    Hire better managers

    Pros

They have a great discount if your into sports wear and fashion. Good benefits ( only if your full time)

    Cons

As a part time associate they will play with your hours giving you 1 day out of a week, and there's a lot of favoritism. There's no room for growth with this company. They don't give promotions and when they do give raises its about .10 cent and they claim they can't give you more. This job is for people in high school who just need something to do in their spare time.

    Advice to Management

If you focus on the performance of your employees vs having favoritism you will gain a lot more respect in the company. Also work with your team, you will accomplish a lot more.

    Pros

The people at Sports Authority are great. It is a young company and there are a lot of internal opportunities.

    Cons

It can be corporate when it comes to movement. You may be the most qualified, but you have to follow their career path.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate your employees. Some should not be in the positions they are in, and some should be moved up.
